New to me SP01 Accu Shadow
« on: March 28, 2025, 05:18:02 PM »
It was posted on a local forum by a reputable member and I jumped on it quick. He had it listed for a price that was too good pass up for such a clean and new looking cz custom gun. He included the original box and paper work from czc, original grips and a range bag. When I got home I see he included various springs. Only two recoil springs were labeled , 10lb and 12lb and one is a flat wire. They all seem to be the same color except for the 10lb. Is it even possible to know what each spring is rated at? What are the clear looking rubber inserts? He included a Cajun Gun Works safety detent, I am guessing its a spare or maybe he never installed it. I'll have to reach out to him about that. Is the safety detent a weak point?

I took it to the range yesterday to run some rounds through it. The max distance at this range is 15yards and it is a tack driver. I dont know what spring was in it but I did try the 10 and 12. The 12 felt much better and had my shots much closer together then the other two recoil springs. Could be all in my mind. I hope I can get out to the outdoor range and spend more time with it.

“ What are the clear looking rubber inserts?”

Do you mean recoil buffers that go on your guide rod?

(I’m not promoting this vendor or product, just referencing the pic)

Yes those.. There isn't one installed on it now. My two other cz customs didn't come with them either. Is it a necessity?

It’s not required, no.  Its rally up to you, either way, awesome firearm!

Pro:  some say using buffers will help reduce firearm wear
Con:  some say the buffers can/will wear and jam your firearm at the wrong time

Try it with and without see if you like the difference.  My S2O has the buffers and it's hard totell the difference.  CZ puts them in so I left them in.  Not very daring on my part.  :D
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.

Let me know if I can help.

build originally has 13# mainspring and 11# recoil spring,
shouldnt need buffers to run.
