Black Chrome

The CZ/Huglu shotguns apparently have chromed barrels with a "black chrome" finish on the outside.
           
            We have a Ringneck in the shop and when it came in I was really impressed by its deep black "blueing", I thought dang they dont make em like this anymore.
           
            I geuss they really don't,lol.
           
            We have been really impressed with the CZ/Huglu shotguns, they fill a niche in the shotgun market that had a vacant hole in between the $400.00 Stoegers and the $900.00 Winchesters.
           
            Personally I would like to pick up one of the Ringnecks or one of the Durangos.

            One question I have on this "black chrome" finish is concerning refinishing, we get alot of reblue jobs at our shop and how would this be accomplished on that finish.
           
            Oblviously it cannot be reblued if its chromed, cannot it be rechromed and if so how difficult is that to get done.
           
            Can CZ-USA accomplish this?
           
            Or would it need to go back to Huglu?
           
            Any information on this would be great.

I had a mtn bike in the 80's (yes the frame was steel) and it was black chromed i think.  The thing scratched easily, but never through to the metal as it never rusted.  I left it outside in the snow a couple of times.
           
            at any rate.. I will guess it is the same as chrome plating any other metal.  the matte finish chrome (if that is what it is is quite durable on the  lesser auto loading SG's.

            that's what I found.  it gets applied over hard chrome or other metals like chrome is usually.
