Shadow 2 Carry decocker and know if it function correct.
« on: May 09, 2025, 02:49:35 PM »
As my topic reads I want to know if the decocker on my new Shadow 2 Carry if working as it should. First off I just picked it up yesterday and have not had a chance to shoot it yet. While looking at it and working the controls I noticed when the pistol was not loaded or with a Magazine, cocking the hammer and then pressing the decocker the hammer would not drop to half cocked.
Can someone please tell me if this is operating correct of could this be a malfunction ? Thanks for any info regarding this issue.

Press it harder and all the way down.

When I first got my new P-01 home, the decocker was stiff and hard to press. After a few dozen cycles, much better

I will give that a try.... I honestly was thinking I was pushing it down all the way. the lever was facing the 5 o'clock position and traveled pretty much free. Oh well I will let you know how it went. Thanks much

Some CZs just seem to be fitted up fairly tight. Several of the pistols I've purchased over the years needed to be fired several hundred times and then re-lubricated before they seem to fully perform as intended. I'm not saying that yours needs to be fired, only that tight assembly is a known CZ feature. But I'd rather have it that way than setup loose and getting looser.

Give it some time to get accustomed to you, and you to it. In the end you'll be wanting a second one.

With my decocker my first range visit consisted of loading, decocking and shooting in D/A, shooting 1 round S/A, repeat. this will help break in the new decocker and get you used to the trigger in both D/A and S/A.
 enjoy....

Either one of the P09s or my 2nd P01 Omega had such tight safeties I had to use both thumbs (one on top of the other) to push it down from safe to fire and then use both to push it up to safe.  I sat here on the couch working the safety till my right thumb was sore and the switched to the other hand and worked it that way.  Took a good while to work it "loose" and zero issues with it after that.

Only one that every had tight controls.

My P07 .40 (an old DUTY model I've owned for 10 or 12 years) still requires the corner of a magazine to push the slide release lever loose in the frame and I still have to try to get a good grip on it with my thumb/trigger finger and work it back and forth to get it far enough out to finish pulling it out.  It's also one of the best shooting CZ's I own.  Yet, it never fails to function correctly.

Guns a funny sometimes.  Not haha funny.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
