Hunting or pest with 630/631

Hey guys. What can you tell me from your experience in pest control with Slavia 630/631? I want to buy one of these arms and i heard a lot about its accuracy and fiability, but i want to know more about this pesting job. The gun isn't the best for this kind of activity becouse of it's rather week muzzle velocity and week power, but i assume it can't be that bad :b . So pls, let's gather some storys here about your hunting performances. Thanks and best regards from Romania. Alex :)

Hello Alex,

I don't do alot of hunting with my 630 or 631, but I've taken quite a few small to medium sized pest birds with both of them. Both of my rifles produce around 6.1fpe so game and range are both factors in effectiveness. The best option would be to stick to head shots and keep the range to a max of 25-30yds.
The rifles are very accurate, and once tuned are very quiet and smooth shooters. Enjoy.

Hey there i got a good story to tell and it's true beleive it or not.
I was sitting out on my back deck when i saw a huge muskrat sitting about 40 yards away. I went and got my slavia 630 and went back out to the deck and i shot the mucskrat and killed it in one shot. My gun is not tuned and the muskrat weighed 6 pounds. I was supprised it died in one shot.

I sure belive you kilgorin, there are plenty of true storys about amazing killings, both with airguns and fire arms. Maybe you hit it near it's ear, or you sectioned a big blood artery, it can happen... Nice story, anyway!

There was some seriuosly stupid seagulls who decided to nest under my stairs.. Im not kidding.. I had to climb out of the fire escape ladder to escape their bombardement of droppings and attacks..

Well. Long story short.. Mr. me drove to the nearest sporting goods to buy some pointed RWS Superpoint 4.5mm pellets that evening.. And Mr. me waited untill 5 o clock that morning and got their mother in his line of sights walking on my lawn in his Bushnell 12x sight on his 631. Perfect sight on his neck told me to hold it a little further up as the 631 isnt a "powerfull" airgun.

Well.. PHOK! The pellet travelled about 25m before hitting its targets brain/head straight on and went straight through it`s head. Believe me i had some explanations to do the next morning why the lawn was full of blood.

Now the really funny thing about this incident is that when i collected the gull and drove of to dispose of it properly. Well the day after my car was seriously bleepted down.. I counted 28 droppings on my car.. I didnt dare to show up at work with it so i came 1/2 hour to late afterwards.. And it did cost me a fortune in White Spirit ro clean it:D

Well. You can hunt with them.. Its better to hunt with an accurate rifle at 800fps than an innaccurate Gamo at 1300fps.

But as Callahan says.. "A man has to know his limitations"

A fully tuned 630/631 should be good for small game within 30-40 yards. My 630 is shooting 7.9g domes at 650fps...
