CZ-618/Raven-18 & small reciever model CZ Info?
« on: November 20, 2003, 09:12:59 AM »
I am trying to locate some information about these rifles. Information here in the US is scant to non-exhistant for these little rifles. I currently own both and am taken in by their good preformance!
I am trying to locate the specific Model parts diagrams, copies of the owners manuals, production run dates, and any other historical information about these small reciever based CZ rifles.
I understand there was also a Model 622, 24 and perhaps other small CZ rifles sold world-wide, but few have entered this country, and even less is known about them.
Please if anyone can help me in my search, either reply here, or contact me via E-Mail at: dnemanic@inreach.com
             Thanks,
             ZVP

Lots of items which bear the CZ logo may have been mfgr. by Brno(lots of rifles which went by the Brno tradename were in reality mfgr. by CZ-UB). A year ago Brno had a web-site, then sudenly without notice it was shut-down:\ (hopefuly it will reappear), hoping it will only be updated with even more Czech Rep. firearm  historical info:) .

F.F.,
             Thanks for the reply!
Yea, I sure wish the CZ airgun enthusiasts would have kept beter records! Perhaps there is some stuff, written in Czech andperhaps one day i will find a bi-lingual assosiate to help reserch them in Czech...
I sure am having a lot of fun with my CZ's! It all started with a "Classic' 1960's ZVP that I bought, and I figgured if that old girl was that good, how bout the rifles?
Glad to report the rifles are just as good!
I have had similar frustrations with obtaining facts about the German Diana line. Records are lost, former employees are reluctant to discuss the historical points and again, there is a language barrier.
Being a relatitivelly recent and former Eastern Bloc Communist State, I fear that some folks are likewise reluctant to publically share the history of their connections to the manufacture of these fine guns.
I will keep my fingers crossed, and if you find out anymore, please let me know. OK?
             Thanks again,
             ZVP

Fred:
From what I have heard, BRNO is totally out of the gun business and CZ-UB has been making all of their guns for years. I asked the Ohio Sales rep about and he concurred. Check out the BRNO section of the latest blue book there is a section on it there.

This could easily be possible since their web-site has been out for quite a while. The U.S. distributor has moved or closed-out entirely. And Export sales have gone down.

On the other hand Brno has just release a new semi-auto  .17 Hmr. rifle based on their fairly sucessful ZKM-611. Their e-site could simply be out for an update or technical problems. If nobody post a reply on this I'll probably post something in the ''General Section''.
