spring removal in slavia 631

hello,
           
            i would like to take out the mainspring and put some lube on the spring and guide.  does anyone know if this is a simple procedure ? i have never done this before so would you recommend it?  could someone without too much trouble step by step it for me?  thank you for your time.

            Its actually abit of a tricky task at first, ive tried the last half an hour to make a step by step operation out of it, but its just too bleep tricky, and itll probably cause you more grief than help (im not very good at this stuff)
           
            if you got anyone you know thats competent with guns (gunsmith etc) let him do it. because airguns are very tricky to operate compared to firearms, everything is under spring pressure.
           
            sorry, but i would probably give you more trouble athan help in this matter.

I removed the factory spring and tarred using Macari's velocity tar (just to reduce vibration, not to increase velocity).  Several posts I have read indicate that the spring in the 631 is under low enough compression that it can be removed and reinstalled with out a compressor.
           
            I personally would not try it without a compressor.  I used a homebuilt compressor made from plans I found on the web.  Try a search for "Charley the Tuna spring compressor".  It is a very simple rig made from 2x6s, a U bolt, and a large C clamp.  Using it is just a matter of clamping the piston chamber under the U bolt between the C clamp and the end of the compressor and unscrewing the end cap slowly.  Reinstalling is also easy but care must be taken not to use too much force before engaging the threads in order to not strip the first of the thread.

Hi, I did this to my 630 by first removing the stock. Then remove pin that holds the trigger in. Be carefull of the small springs, there is a coiled one and flat one, both are on the trigger. After removing the trigger, unscrew the knurled end cap (with the safety in it)applying pressure as you do this so you don't tear the last threads of the end cap. Reassembly is the reverse of this with the small coiled trigger spring being the trickiest to get back in right(it fits into a hole in the trigger and the other end fits into a hole in the sear) HTH KD  P.S. The flat trigger spring adjusts trigger pull on the 630.

I just have to add that I did this without a spring compressor. I just drilled a1/2 in. hole in my work bench, Put the safety knob in it,and pushed down while turning the end cap. Putting the long stock screw in the end cap helps when turning if you have trouble here. With the Canadian cz's there is little tension and it can be done with your hands(carefully) KD
