Hello. Finally, after 8 months, I got my CZ75 slide back from Kurt Wickmann, who installed Novak fixed sights for me. I also had him beadblast blue the top of the slide and polish the slide flats for a shiney blue.
When the slide was sent in, the front sight had been very slightly reduced in height to get POA to coincide with POI. I told him to keep the ratio between the new sights the same as the old in the hopes that POI would not change.
I noted a very small rectangular area that's nearly concealed by the sight to have been silver soldered in place. It's not distracting and very, very professional in appearance. This was done to fill in part of the dovetail from the original rear sight such that the new Novak could be placed foreward enough for the rear of the slide and the rear of the sight to seem contoured together as is the Hi Power installation. The difference is that one has to use the Novak rear sight for the 1911 in order to have one high enough to have a decent height on the front sight. You will note that in its original configuration, the CZ75 has a very low front sight for the height of its rear sight.
Anyway, the craftsmanship was very, very good. I consider it perfect.
Finally got a chance to go to the range today and the work done by Mr. Wickmann was true. He did keep the ratios the same as requested. The gun hit dead on as before.
I am most satisfied with the work, but not the wait. Wickmann did have some problems, but I'd suggest before sending anything you call and see if he's caught up enough to get on your job without too long a lag time.
Best.
