Kadets are Fun!
« on: December 15, 2001, 09:13:13 PM »
I spent most of the morning getting my Kadet kit to fit my CZ-75 Mil's frame today. Aside from the usual required filing of the lug on the barrel, and the small rails on the slide housing, mine needed quite a bit of filing of the lower rail of the slide. It was tedious, but I filed carefully using a little Hoppes gun oil for lubricant and test fitted very often, comparing the 9mm slide to the Kadet slide until the feel of the action was the same.

All that work was worth it though! As soon as I got the action to cycle smoothly, I was out shooting paper. I must have put about 300 rounds through, shooting CCI 22LR, Remington Target ammo, and Remington High Velocity Hollow Points. As I suspected from the tight fit, it was pretty darn accurate. I had no problems at all with feeding or ejecting either. The adjustable sights are real nice too.

Obviously, the 22LRs don't kick or go bang like 9mm +P's do, but it makes it a lot easier to concentrate on technique.

Overall, the Kadet is just a ball to shoot. I think I'm going to take it out tomorrow too!

Hello.  The Kadets are a peach to use and I much prefer mine to the Kimber Platinum conversion that I use on a 1911.

Best.
