Location: Bullet Trap - Plano,TX
Temperature: Hot - Lane was right under overhead heat pipe!
Wind: None, indoor range
Ammo: 300 rounds Winchester 115 Grain Target ammo
Failures to feed: Zero
Mag Failures: One, follower on butchered MecGar 10 round was hung. Range Master repaired it and it performed without further bobbles.
Seven yard groupings were hard to determine as all shot strings with both the 15 round and 10 round mags were one big hole literally. Fifteen Yard groupings averaged 2" with some under 2". I am not a great shot but I had folks gathering around who were shooting Glocks, Berettas and HK's wanting to know what I was shooting to produce the tight groups. Accuracy-wise, the CZ just kicked the tail of the guy two bays over to my left shooting a full size HK USP 9 not to mention the fact his weapon was LOUD.
The instruction I received recently from a tactical instructor paid off but the real credit goes to the CZ75. I now feel like I did as a Sig owner except without the heavy recoil the top heavy sig classics render due to the light aluminum frame.
I saw absolutely no signs of the trigger pin working out nor any other signs of undue wear. I will further evaluate this after I do a thorough cleaning later this evening. The recoil was pleasant and the noise level was minimal. Muzzle flash was non-existent and I attribute this to the relatively longer barrel of the CZ------------4.7" to be exact. The DA was crisp and there was very little creep on the SA pull. After about 200 rounds, the pistol was quite warm but accuracy was not affected in any way.
I will admit that the polymer finnish will chip. Last night as I broke the weapon down for it's first lubrication, the slide was so dry, I had to really pull to get it off the frame and during the process, I dinged the rear of the slide against the front of the frame. I stopped further chipping by filling in the small void with a glob of matte black from my birchwood casey touch up pen--------------a must for every shooters cleaning kit. I'll concede it broke my heart when I saw that first chip but after tonight's trip, I don't even notice it. I applied RIG grease liberally to all mating surfaces in conjunction with Breakfree CLP and it paid off in a flawless showing. Nevertheless my new Czech friend was smokin' as that grease heated up.
I ended up the night by shooting up a head target of Osama Bin Laden that will be sent to my-father-in-law for the office decor of his company. As I walked out of the gun range and into the showroom floor, I walked past the gun cases. I could not help but thinking as I walked by: "I have in my case a $369.00 pistol. It is highly accurate. It will digest any 9mm ammo made by any factory at any power level with no problem or damage over the long haul. High Cap mags are still available and affordable. Why on earth would I pay $500-$700 for a prestigious name and get a less accurate weapon that cannot handle repeated use of higher powered ammo? Why?"
