CZ97B & CZ-100 Mini-SHOOT
« on: May 14, 2002, 08:16:12 PM »
Hi, while most experts consider 250 rounds to be the
minimum for reliablity testing..i'm no expert:)

I went turkey hunting..couldn't call any in.
Dug out the CZ .45 and CZ-100 .Sadly, my
camera batteries were low.

After loading up 9mm mags...
I Shot the CZ-100 first. 2 boxes of Blazer 9mm. and two mags of Remigton 115 gr. +P+

The Blazer ran smoothly thru the V.F. 15-shot mags,
and also the CZ-100 ten

shot mags.

Remigton HPs seemed quite hot for the polymer CZ.
I encountered one stovepipe when i tried two quick shots out of the 10 shot mag.

I then switched to Blazer JHP, shot two more mags..
no problems encountered.

The CZ-100 seemed easier to actually fire, than to
dry fire.

It was a real joy to shoot at stumps and an old car
body from about 50 yards out. Smaller stumps and
pop cans at 30 or so.

Practiced some speed drills from the Don Hume CZ-76.
The CZ-100 came up fast, and if i concentrated, it could
get good center hits@15 yards.or closer.

I an adrenaline rushed, shooting scenario..i think one
could just stroke the trigger right onto a center hit.
Those with shorter, stronger fingers than yours truly..
would do very well.

The more you shoot the CZ-100, the better it seems.
I'm impressed by its accuracy for a DAO design. Low
recoil with the Blazer. AS expected, Very noticed recoil/blast with the LEO +P+ stuff.

The added weight of the Tac-Star really didn't seem to
affect recoil/recovery. I took it off, and kept on shooting.

Given it's intended mission : Police issue. For those
recruits that have had no exposure to firearms. Very
hard to have an AD with this design.

The Dao trigger is not so bad. Those who like the CZ-100
for all it's merits. Light, points well, super reliable..at low cost.

They haves adapted to the trigger, and are in love with the gun.
After shooting the CZ-100..I can now understand their reasoning. It's just plain cool looking and very reliable
in my eyes.

I'm very glad to report that the V.F. Hi-Caps worked
superbly, and this gives CZ-100 9mm owners a great
source for spare mags. Thanks for providing such an
outstanding product at a low price,BOB!

The gun was so fun to shoot, i was sorry to run out of
9mm ammo.

.45 CZ.

next up..the CZ97B converted to SA ONLY.

A box of Wolf .45 and a box of Blazer.
I wanted to see what Hardball would feed/feel like.

After the first box of Wolf. I'd shot stumps, and
pop cans from a standing position... Not a single malfunction. Low recoil
and the Wolf/ MMC combo put them right where i
wanted the 230 gr pumpkins to go..15 yards.
25 yards..even some distance shooting..

The Champion trigger was light and crisp..very
little take-up, and with zero over-travel.

MMCs white outline/double bar tritium was dead on
for my eyes. I just am enamored with the entire
gun.

Big frame that fits my hand perfectly.. soft/rolling recoil,
and 100% reliable with my chosen loads.

Next time i'll put up some targets and see how it
shoots with reloads or some JHPS.

Designed with and for S&B Hardball. The 97B is a target
gun, indeed. With the SA conversion..MMC adjustables..
it's even better.

Drawing from the CZ-76

I was able to bring up the heavy .45, lock onto target..
the light SA trigger did its job!

The stock recoil spring handled the Hardball just fine.
Slide felt a bit loose during cycling, but ejection was
positive and far less-radical than my hot 10mm loads.

The 97B might be the most expensive standard production
CZ. But i think with its fit and function..along with great accuracy. It's darn
well worth the extra money. My glossy blue gun feels like the slide is on glass.

ROB at MMC did a fine job on the sights..

This IS the replacement gun for my aging 75s.

I've wanted a .45 CZ since i first seen them in MAN
MAGNUM and HANDGUNS. Like with the 10mm fairy tales
of horrible recoil.

I was told that the 97B was for those with Large hands.
Meaning to me: Big Hands, for a Wide grip...ala Glock
.45 and 10mms.

I find the 97B to be long gripped..not wide gripped.
The fact that i have long fingers, makes the 97B
a totally Perfect fitting CZ for me.

Don't let others sway you away from the CZ-100
or 97B.each has its own merits.

Rent, one or find a CZFer with one you can handle.

I still want a 10mm barrel for the 97B-SA, but am
glowing with pride over my cuztom .45 right now.

Major Caliber Class!!
