Hakan Pek's Health Problems
« on: August 06, 2005, 01:40:15 PM »
Hi, I spoke to Hakan Pek this morning and he is home from the hospital. His pain is being handled by medication and he is back in his shop.

Hakan is very concerned about his reputation as a premier custom grip maker. In an effort to protect his name he is going to concentrate on his backlog of orders. What does this mean to the public? Hakan Pek is not taking new orders until his backlog of orders is caught up.

Hakan wants to thank everyone for their good wishes and patience during his illness. If I hear anything else I will inform you.

Regards,

Richard :D

Hakan has no need to worry about his reputation. He is at the top of his profession, and illness will not change that. My best to him and his family.

Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not really after you!

No need to worry. I still think of him as a friend and that will not change. Just take care of yourself and the family first, then come back when your ready. Tip of the hat to Haken. Take care my friend.

Hakan,
Hope you have a speedy recovery.  Don't think you need to worry about your reputation...all people have to do is look at your work...that speaks for itself.  Take care my friend.

Thanks a million for the supportive and kind words folks....it really gives me a strength.

I've been out of the hospital for about two weeks now and I'm g basically running on pain killers.they haven't really done anything with me,except for some tests and a new appointment in October :(  The problem with my back is a combination of things and I guess they don't know which one to fix first...or which is the most important one...of course this whole situation effects me emotionally too :(

I had lots of e mails waiting for me and I'm still replying them one by one. This takes some time  and there is even more, so please be patient for your reply if you're waiting for one.

I'm also doing my grip work too.The situation has slow me down on my already backlogged orders, but I'm a stubborn person and I deliver the product at the end :)

With all these things happening with me right now, I regretfully had to come to the conclution of putting the order taking on hold for a while and catch up with the list I already have.

My replies to incoming e mails with a grip requests will briefly explain the situation and will leave the option of being placed in the list open if the time frame is not a matter...I've always had a hard time saying no to folks,so I thought this would be better than just doing that. I'm sorry and I hope you guys will understand my decision.I'm hoping to get back to taking orders regulary asa things get better.

Again...I appreciate the concerns you all expressed in this thread and I especially thank Richard for his phone calls to follow up the situation and for keeping you guys updated.

Take care y'all.

Regards,

Hakan.

Dave is right Hakan, you are to strong willed not to make it through this. My best wishes for a speedy recovery is still being sent.

Personally, I think they should fix all of them at once and be done with it. I hate it when people suffer in pain all the time. But I am not a doctor so I can't really say either.

Take care Hakan,
  Jo

I spoke to Hakan again this morning and his situation is unchanged. He goes off his medicines when he works on grips etc. I spoke to Hakan about a pain management course and he said he would look into it. He wishes he was in the USA as we care about him, his situation, and he feels we could look out for him better. Hakan sends his best to everyone. Regards, Richard :D
