OK, CZ-USA's top shooter, the world class shooter Angus Hobdell, now has his very own forum. This is where you can ask him questions about shooting tips, tricks, and the competetion circuit. He is a busy man, and hopping all over the globe doing matches and promo, so he'll drop in from time to time like anyone else, but hey, this is HIS forum, so take it away Angus!      :D  8)  :D  8)  :D  8)  :b

I'm sorry to say that I do not know of Mr. Hobdell's exploits outside of this forum as I (and many others I'm sure) are very new to CZ's in general. I hope that the most of us can at least ask decent questions and hopefully not appear to be too 'noobish' in the process. I'm glad to see that someone is available who has hopefully alot of information and usefull data to contribute to everyone, even if unintentionally. I, myself, am looking forward to your opinions and suggestions that almost all people here will read at least once.

All questions have some validity or other. The question is often not what to ask but how to ask it and often the difficulty is how to answer.
A picture is worth a thousand words that sort of deal.

We were all new at this at one time or another, I still realise that almost everyday I learn something new.

So if you have something to ask by all means go ahead I will do my best to give an imformed and sensible answer.
Jarlath is that a bit of English crreping in there? You lot will have to excuse me my American is not bad but I do lapse into English occasionally.

Here here! You do not have to shoot as fast or as well as Angus to shoot WITH Angus at any major competition.

How many golfers play as well as Tiger? That does not stop them from enjoying the heck out of the sport. Don't be afraid to bring out your CZ (or whatever you have) & try your hand at USPSA (IPSC as it exists the USA) IDPA, steel, pins, or dare I even bring it up - GSSF if you own a Glock (I do & I have shot GSSF. Easy to shoot but hard to win).

Now I did not happen to shoot on the same squad as Angus (never met him in fact) at the 2004 Area 8 championship but we were both there shooting the same exact stages. I am just a lowly B Class shooter but I can shoot almost any big match as long as I get my entry in early & ante up the entry. Besides, CZ sent a factory rep to that match with all sorts of cool CZs for us to check out & he had some free handouts too.

The shooting sports are simply not so large (as of yet) that the top guys are out of reach. On the contrary, all the top dogs I meet are friendly, down to earth guys you can talk with easily. As an example, Angus' team mate, Todd Sindelar regularly shows up at the local USPSA matches I run here: www.shootersparadise.com You will not meet a more friendly guy in the world. Shooters Paradise is owned by Grand Master Phil Strader who is as humble, approachable, & friendly as they come (his only fault is he does not shoot a CZ - yet).

If you hear of a local competition, come out & give it a try. Its not what you shoot or how fast/well you shoot, but THAT you shoot.

Well seriously. If you don't try it you neber know what you are missing.
I noticed on Brians Forum that Todd has finally come out of the closet and let everyone know that he is shooting a CZ this year. I am expecting greater things from him.
