Anyone have a Red Dot on a 75?
« on: August 20, 2007, 11:37:08 AM »
Particularly I would be interested in putting it on a Champion or Tactical/Sport.

Other than the C-More Serendipity, what options are there?  Who makes mounts for the CZ75?

Anyone recommend a gunsmith to do the drilling and tapping of the frame?

If I could just shut-up and join the 1911 herd this wouldn't be an issue, but I seem to persistently want to go with non-1911 guns.

I'm interested in mounting a JP Enterprise JPoint red dot sight on my SP-01.  A co-worker just had one melted into the slide on his Open Glock 35.  He had mounted with a dovetail adaptor before and now with the slide milled the red dot sits much lower than before and looks great.  These sights sell for around $240 and battery life is around 200 hours, they can be had with 4 moa or 8 moa dots.  Another cool feature is that it has a built in rear sight below the red dot so that it can do-witness with the front sight if the red dot fails. I shot his glock and really liked it.  The sight is very light and very quick to get on target.  I've got a picture of one on a CZ-75, I'll try to dig it up.  I don't compete formally but I love going to local fun shoots.  I may check with Angus to see if he has ever mounted one on a CZ-75.

This is the JPoint sight mounted on a CZ-75 using the dovetail adaptor which places it a ittle high, I want to have someone mill the slide to mount it lower.

This is the JPoint milled or melted into a Glock slide.

CPMI used to make a mount for the Aimpoint Comp which is pretty good. also the C-more is a really dependable red dot..have run those for years on STI/SV guns..

the Doctor/Jpoint, etc mounted on the slide seem pretty decent too..

might try talking with Angus or Matt Mink..both he and Matt Mink have recently moved into new shops..otherwise I'd give George Smith at EGW a call..

Thank you for the tips.  I have wondered how the slide mounted red dots hold up.  You would think they would take more recoil than a frame mounted sight but maybe it doesn't make a difference.  Thanks for the tips.  I will check with Angus.
