9mm vs. 40 for 75 tactical sport

Hi everyone,

It's my first post  

I am trying to decide whether to get the 9mm or the .40
version of the 75 tactical sport.

Is there pros and cons that I need to be aware of?

I live in CA, so 10 round is the limit anyway.

I am leaning toward the 40 right now because it's almost impossible to get the 9mm in CA .  I don't know why.

Please give me your input and if there is a way around so I could get the 9mm.

If you hand load, ammo costs will not be much of a factor.  You get more punch on targets if you are trying to knock over steel plates.

I just got my Tactical Sport out of Layaway.  I took it down to my local range and ran a hundred rounds of 155 grain, copper plated, cast lead bullets through my pistol.  It was extreemly accurate at 15 yards!  I did not have a single malfunction!  The action is silky smooth!  The trigger let off is to die for!

This is a big pistol.  It really soakes up the recoil of the snappier 40 S&W cartridge.

My only negetive comment is:  There is a lot of day light around that skinny front sight!  The notch in the rear, fixed sight is more than generous.  The front sight blade is very narrow.  I am not used to this combination, but I was able to shoot the pistol just fine even with these old eyes of mine!

I think the .40S&W is more versatile and can be economical if you are handloading.
It really depends on what you plan to do with it.  Are you just going to be taking to the range and sending lead down range at paper targets? Or, are there some other "gun games" like many of the action pistols sports that you plan to play in?  I have the TS in .40S&W and am attempting to compete in USPSA Limited division, although I've thought about the 9mm for potentially converting to any open rig with optics.  I would think the 9mm would be an easy shooter but you would be at a disadvantage when being scored in USPSA in minor vs. major.
