The "Superman" Carry

The P01, being a compact yet high-capacity pistol, is a very good weapon for the Superman carry.  This is only if you have a concealed weapons permit of course.  You wear a T-shirt, then a horizontal shoulder holster (no belt loops), then a western style shirt (with snaps instead of buttons) tucked in, and then an optional jacket/coat.  A shear white shirt could show black holster straps, so go with a patterned or colored shirt.  This lets you carry concealed in any public situation where you might take your jacket/coat off, such as eating at a fine restaurant.  You can leave the house without freaking out your wife/family.  It is very good for retention, as criminals will have nothing visible to grab.  Instinctively clamping the holstered gun with your upper arm, makes it very difficult for anyone to steal.  It does not get in the way when sitting or driving.

In a crisis situation you rip open your shirt (like Superman) to access your weapon.  I used to carry a Colt Combat Commander like this and never had any problems.  It would work very well with the P01.  The P01 might even be better since with 14+1 rounds, you could get by without packing spare mags.  I like a horizontal shoulder holster (without belt loops) adjusted tight so the pistol is held up high near the arm pit.  However, I don't like using a horizontal shoulder holster at the range, as the gun ends up pointed uprange at people.

I have seen a shirt made for this style of carry, with velcro "buttons", and one with a velcro pocket that lifts up to access the sidearm. I wore a shoulder rig for years, but never really liked it much.

I could not resist.

No really, here is a jacket that works great for that type of carry.

It works just like that! Only don't expect return fire to bounce off your chest.

I have a Uncle who is a retired LEO from the Chicago Police. He was on the South Side for 30 years. He told me that most LEO's are/were shot with their own weapon. They would grab the weapon from behind, and kill the LEO.
A lot of LEO's there started carrying their duty revolver empty, and would have a J frame tucked inside their shirt, with the bottom button open.

Would the Andrews Monarch rig be good for this?
