What parts do I need to change my 75 B's double action trigger to a single action?

Not Angus..but will throw out my .02

couple of ways to shoot in SA..

just leave it and shoot in SA only.

take out the DA connector and keep the same trigger

or switch out to a SA trigger, couple of types available, one with adjustments for pretravel and overtravel, one with adjustment for overtravel only.
take out the DA connector.

Thank you sir for responding, I may go with option #1. I transitioned over from 1911's so I am used to SA only, but what you suggest makes sense. Leve it cocked and locked and go from there.

If I decide I want to really change it, removing the DA connector would be my cheapest option and most likely the one I would choose. Thank you again eerw for replying, I know your Not Angus, but I didnt mean for the question to only be directed towards him, just was not all that sure where to post the question with all the sub forums here

good advice from eerw,

I really like the SA aluminum trigger, and like eerw said, is adjustable for both pre and overtravel giving you (along with a new hammer and lighter hammer spring) a very crisp 1911 like trigger, just keep that in mind if you decide to put a little money into it later on. It isn't that difficult to do and the results are dramatic over a stock trigger. Of course that hammer is pretty pricey though.

good luck!

Correct using the SA Trigger alleviates all the associated movement necessary with the SA DA style trigger allowing for shorter resets etc.

The hammer is pricey? Have you looked a good quality 1911 hammers like the Koenig or the EGW recently :-)
Angus Duhhhh!

I've been curious as to exactly how much pre-travel can be adjusted out with the SA trigger.

Can you bring it back all the way to the point where the FPB starts to engage?

Further still with the FPB removed?

Thanks in advance...

a worked over single action with a new hammer, SA trigger and FPB removed is sweet..I have one with a 1.5# trigger, just as sweet as the best 1911 trigger.
the CZ hammer is nice part..and a little better price wise over the 1911 premium hammers like the Koenig or SV. also check out the price on the custom Tanfoglio hammer by EGW..nice part too...

You guys have me really interested now, I can get my CZ's trigger 1911 like? So, how much does this hammer and trigger cost?

The only reason I mentioned pricey is it sounds like he is on a budget, he mentioned "cheapest option".

I didn't mean to imply that it is overpriced, hey I bought one!

I am on a budget, I would call myself one of the more "Broker" members here but I can find a way to spring for the trigger , I know you have to pay to play, just wondering exactly how much it will cost, I saw a SA trigger online for $40.

the trigger with both adjustments is around $40 and the hammer around $58
every now and then you can find them less expensive..
you might ask around ..someone might have switched out the factory SA trigger..which only has one adjustment..and it is possible to clean up factory hammer and get good SA. it might be a little more labor..but it is doable..

where are you located..might be a good smith around your area..that can set it up..

Sorry for the repeating the question here, but could anyone describe just how much pre-travel can be adjusted out with the SA trigger?

Can you dial it all the way back to where the FPB on a DA would begin to disengage?

Thanks.

If you are keeping DA, the pre-travel will be limited by that - i.e. the trigger needs to travel a fair amount on the DA pull in order to move the hammer from all the way down.  If you're talking about SA only, you should be able to adjust it to eliminate most travel before the reset point which might be set my the FSB (but could also be set by the sear engagement).

I don't think much unless you remove the FPB, if you do remove that, then the take-up is quite short.

sorry, I'll try to stop replying in this section, I realize it isn't the ask Kelly forum!
