I don't have a definitive answer, but I have fired quite a bit of it with no ill effects. The frame and barrel seem more than adequate for the slight increase in pressure.

I have shot Plus P through mine without any problems. It is a strong gun!  If you put a FLGR and a 24 lb. spring in it it probably could handle 45 Super also? I am going to give it a try sometime.  I have been shooting .45 Super with my 1911 Long Slide and kind of like it!  It feels just like 10mm and is no big deal!  Plus P shoots just fine and does not damage the 97 at all.

I don't know what a FLGR has to do with shooting +P ammo, but whatever.

I'm guessing it has more to do with the 24 lb spring than the +P ammo.

My XD uses an 18 lb spring and that thing is a bear!  Does anyone really use a 24 lb spring?

I use a 20 lb in the 97B and a 22 lb in the 75B-SA-.40
