it was chambered in 9x21..but loaded to 9x19 OAL. built back in 1992
ran 115s at the old 175 PF..ran the gun two years on the factory slide stop

I took my 9mm champion to a gunsmith today to have a c-more fitted. It'll be ready second week of 2009.
I can't wait.....I also got some VV 3N37 to make some loads that does make the comp work.

Any suggestions on how much to use for a 123 gr. TC-FMJ  (Fiocchi)? I'm thinking of starting with 6.0 gr.

Bump.

Any updates? I've had a C-more fitted to my SP01. Have a spare Aussie compliant 125mm barrel & possibly an aftermarket 6" barrell available. Am looking at compensators & options.

Anyone know if Angus is making em yey?

Cheers, Ando.

No idea about Angus' intentions, but might rate a call.  I was actually hoping to see some open stuff at SHOT, but it appears that it wasn't to be.

As for the compensator, it can be done, using factory parts.  I've been talking to Venry from Radical Precision, and he's gonna be doing them.  He's already got a couple CZ's in the works, so I'm betting you'll be seeing them soon.  He uses the factory barrel and slide, and creates a 1911'ish (for lack of better terminology) setup.  It actually uses 1911 springs, and the entire assembly can be removed out the front of the slide.  I'd post what all he told me, but I'm not completely for sure that would be kosher as I'm assuming it's more/less proprietary.  I'm sure he would tell you all you wanted to know about it if you contacted him, I found him to be incredibly helpful and friendly.

I've got a gun, optics, and someone who will cut it all up, I just need to make some more money first  >:(

Agreed about the chunkyness of the factory TS;  Mines been shaved down to remedy such a situation, and I think it feels great.  I actually prefer the grip of this gun over a 2011 grip.
My TS:

Just curious but why the chopped dust cover? Faster target transitions, better balance, or....  ???

FLL1911,

Any chance of you posting some pic's of your project SP-01 and your friends Champion??

I'd love to see them, and I'm sure most of the guys here would too ;D

Both.  It was actually already done when I bought the gun.  Having owned a stock TS before though, I much prefer this setup.  Feels great in the hand.

Hi folks,
just done my SP-01 Open pistol:)
here are some photos:

What have I done:
- cut the triggerguard and beavertail to have the same feeling of frame like in Shadow
- painted the frame
- added competition hammer, steel guiderod, extended magazine release (from Shadow), alu grips and magweel
- removed FPB
- customized the trigger to have very short reset
- changed the mainspring to 13lb
- changed the recoil spring to 10lb
- changed the barrel with IGB barrel with IGB compensator (www.igbaustria.com, www.impulsegunbarrels.com)
- added J-point 8MOA
- bought some long magazine but have no idea how to cut it to 170mm, now it has 174mm
- bought some alu pads from czub.cz which make 22 capacity magazine

I'm waiting for custim extended safeties.

I don't reload so I shoot minor with factory ammo. The best ammo for this gun is magtech 95 grains.
I have also compensator for major loaded but never it doesn't work with factory ammo.

regards

Leszek

Leszek, that looks awesome.  I like that finish you did on the frame.

Where are you located?  I get the feeling it's not in the US.  I haven't ever seen those AL basepads before, look pretty trick.

Is that a factory CZ 25 round mag?  Are you doing anything with the followers (ie: trimming them down), or plan on adding a baseplate?

Poland:)
Pads are produced in Czech.
Yes it's factory 25 r mag. At this time I only changed the spring and now the capacity is 26 in mag.
First I have to cut the mag, then I will thinking about trimming the follower.

I haven't trimmed followers in "standard" mags with alu pads.

Hi Leszek,

I?m also from Poland (Zabrze - Biskupice) but live now in germany. Didn't know IGB is selling barrels and comps for the SP-01. Saw only cz75 standart barrels on their website and the comps were for glocks. What setup is in your SP-01?

Best regards

Andreas

Bumping this thread to the top for any possible updates...

Anyone build anything new, or get some new leads?  I knew there were some people who were going to Venry, have any of these guns ever materialized?

Angus is supposedly coming out with some basepads that will extend mag capacity for the '75 stuff.  He also said he's got a conversion for the TS to run normal '75 mags as well.

Still sitting on a spare '75SA slide here, debating on what to do with it.  I've been researching cone compensators lately, and trying to think about what all would need to happen to make on of those work....  Cut off the front of the slide a little bit, have a cone that mates to a threaded barrel, and then locks up into the slide?  Reverse plug setup for the recoil spring?

Any info on Compensators? I really want one for my CZ75B SA.... Any compensator I would be happy with.

Contacted Venry, waiting for reply.

Yeah, I contacted him as well, but he hasn't gotten back to me.  Been several weeks since he's been on BENOS, I hope things are good with him.

The factory CZ comp (and Venry's) is about the only one that I've seen used, though the factory one is apparently really hard to get ahold of.  Assuming you could get an extended barrel threaded to match, I don't see why any 2011 comp wouldn't work, though it would likely look goofy.

I have a copy of SolidWorks that I'm playing around with, trying to model up some ideas I have.  I think I have a decent understanding of how the comp/barrel system would work out, but I'm working on a recoil spring/guide setup.  Someone else tipped me off to the factory EAA parts that Hennig sells at his store, and I'm thinking about picking up the guide rod/reverse plug/spring setup to check it out.  I haven't done much prototyping (especially in SolidWorks), but am trying to get the hang of things.  I think a cone comp/reverse plug setup would/could work, I just need to get something together that I can have machined up for me.
