I voted no but a lot of staunch gun owners will give up their guns if the price of keeping them is too high. I urge every board member to join the NRA and local Rifle Assocations as that is the only way that will keep our rights and they are our rights!

Such a tragedy that some of my relatives in the UK have had to endure.  My cousin has emigrated here, and the first thing he did upon becoming a US citizen was to buy a 9mm pistol!

I also voted no!  If they come for mine, they can have the bullets, first!

The only way they will get my guns is from my cold, dead, hands.  But the guns will be smokin' hot.  Seriously though, No one is going to be getting rid of the 2nd amendment anytime soon.  It is so sad to see the results of action like this.  All the deluded anti gun people in Australia and the UK are scratching their heads wondering why gun crimes are up over 40% after they took them all away.  I guess it never occurred to them that providing the criminals with an entire population of unarmed victims wouldn't reduce crime.  All you have to point out to anyone stupid enough to want to take all the guns away is history.  Just look at how many millions of people have been rounded up and put to death by governments after they have disarmed the population.  Here is a short list:

1)  Ottoman Turkey, 1915-1917, 1-1.5 million killed  2)  Soviet Union, 1929-1945, 20 million killed  3)  Nazi Germany, 1933-1945, 20 million killed  4)  Nationalist China, 1927-1949, 10 million killed  5)  Red China, 1949-1952 1957-1960 1966-1976, 20-35 million killed  6)  Guatemala 1960-1981, 100,000-200,000 killed, 7)  Uganda 1971-1979, 300,000 killed  8 )  Cambodia (Khmer Rouge)  1975-1979, 2 million killed  9)  Rwanda  1994, 800,000 killed.

All of these people were rounded up and put to death by their own governments or political rivals/enemies shortly AFTER they had all of their guns taken away by law.  Remember your history folks . . . you would think after all of these millions of deaths people would have learned something or remembered what happened but the gun control crowd just doesn't seem to have a clue.  A great resource on this is a book by the Jews for the Protection of Firearms Ownership it is called "Death by Gun Control".

Hell no I won't. My second ammendment is a right that I hold dearly. That woman can stick her opinion. I am not going to be a victium of violient crime. I will protect my family when a criminal breaks into my home and tries to hurt me or my son. I would never live in England or Aust.

 The video made me sick to see al the guns melted down,crushed and put in the trash. Yes I agree so your teeth to the goverment and join the NRA. Let your goverment know your not going to back down.

Yes, the video is true, also a few years old. The Brits and Aussies, used to being subjects of the Queen, gave in with a loud whimper. The HUGE differance is when the AWB was passed in 1994, the American people did NOT simply shrug our shoulders, and march in lockstep to the police station to turn in our rifles and standard capacity magazines. We spoke, and for the first time in history, a sitting Speaker of the House was thrown out of office, and the reprecussions of voting a gun ban was felt across the nation, and deep within the Demonrat party, who lost, and lost big. Brady thinks we have forgotten, when she crowed over the BO election, "We won...now let's get busy!" We didn't forget, the buying frenzy across the nation is a POINTED reminder. Do you believe the people who spent all that money will meekly turn them in, as Diane Fienstien once said, in '94, "If it had the votes...Mr and Mrs. America, turn them in."
The NRA won many of the campaigns across the nation, but we were fighting against a percieved economy and unpopular war, both exacerbated by a LIEberal media. That was our battle, guns weren't on the field at all.
BO and the leftist crowd knew it. They have our guns on thier radar screens, but not as a primary, or even secondary goal. They remember what happened last time, so they will try to get the Fairness Doctrine and other muzzles on our free speech first.
Then it may be "Katy, bar the door."

i have been a responsible gun owner at an early age and up to this time i always maintain a firearm for two reasons:

(a) its my right to own one
(b) to protect my family (though i pray i never have to shoot my guns in anger)

and its really pathetic that people who are supposedly knowledgeable and schooled are blind to the obvious fact that "guns don't kill people...its people who kill people"...

I think maybe part of the "give and take" here, might start where when we have "responsible gun owners" act irresponsibly, we also need to prosecute based on the laws governing what is "responsible gun ownership" or even just common sense too.

A lot of 8 year olds are still learning how to swim, ride bikes, etc. NOT shooting fully automatic weapons! IMHO this was equivalent to sending the child to play on the freeway knowingly... Also take a look at the profession of the "responsible parent" too...

So they go after everyone else, other than the "responsible parent," good chances are these other folks did not have their 8 year olds shooting a full automatic weapon. Although I concede that if the "instructor" was actually an under aged child too, then those folks do need to answer to that.

The actions and decisions of this so called "responsible parent" is endangering our 2nd Amendment Rights, when he failed to act responsibly even as a basic parent. I feel for his loss as a parent myself, but he had the final decision as a parent on whether an 8 year old has their finger on the trigger in this situation.

The culture in America is changing, but I pray it doesn't change so much that US citizens could be disarmed like so many sheep.  We collectively already act like sheeple in other areas.

I have the "from my cold dead hands" attitude.

I like the picture of the SKS and accompanying text.  I have one in my house right now, lent to me by a Vietnam Veteran friend at my church.  I am debating whether I should buy it, I don't think he wants much for it.  He put the all-black Monte Carlo synthetic stock and a scope on it.

Might it not make a nice contrasting companion to my new P01?

I watched the video and felt great pangs of sorrow for the British people.  Shows what can happen when a people becomes complacent and apathetic.  Really really horrible.

Getting those guns back will not be possible, since they have been destroyed, and getting rights back is an uphill struggle.  However, the Cause is Just and the Battle worth winning!
