Pre-B 75 Sear Same As Current Combat?
« on: February 15, 2009, 11:21:44 PM »
Does anyone know if the pre-B sear on the 75s is the same as the sear currently on the 85C?

Thx

Excellent question. I would like confirmation on this as well.

I do believe they are identical. I recall reading an article not too long ago about a guy with a modern 85 Combat buying a Miossi custom hard sear for it.

So,

... desperate to replace my existing sear due to the fact that I "deleted" my safety be removing too much material from the sear safety arm when trying to re-fit the safety after installing the Angus competition hammer, I went ahead and ordered a pre-B sear from Angus' site.  Despite being told by someone at Ghost Products that the pre-b sear is not the same as a Combat sear and that I should order the Combat sear from CZ (which is a pain in Canada) I can report with 100% certainty that the pre-b sear DOES fit the Combat (and Shadow as well).  If you put the two parts side-by-side there is a slight difference in the profile of the safety arm but it makes absolutely no difference.

On a side note, for those installing the Angus hammer, in the write-ups on this site Jim Miossi recommends fitting the sear to the safety while Angus says they fit the safety to the sear.  From first hand experience with both approaches, either way will work but it's easier to fit the safety to the sear.

I always buy a "Pre-B" sear to go with my Angus hammer when I do trigger jobs.  This would be the same part as the 85 Combat sear.  $32-$33 from czcustom.com last time I ordered.  A lot more expensive than the $3 lifter spacer for those removing their FPB, but a cleaner final product.

Long story short, that's the part you want.
