.40 Tactical
« on: March 25, 2009, 09:31:54 PM »
Just put a .40 Tactical on layaway. Do these shoot as well as the .40 75B and do they need the more powerful extracor spring like the 75B in 40?  I am very happy with my 75B in .40 and am hoping that the SP01 does as good a job.

I take it not very many people have shot both. Well in a week or so I will post a range report and compare the two. I am assuming that for the most part the decocker, weight, and rail will be the only major difference but I guess I will find out. Night Sights are also on the .40 tactical.

the .40 tactical I had ran with the factory extractor spring. good gun..shot really nice with the extra weight of the dustcover. I did a nice trigger on it and changed out the sights.

I've got eerw's old 40 Tactical upper on my SP01 manual right now.  Reliability stinks with OE 9mm mags and I haven't sprung for some new MecGar 40 mags yet.  Reliability aside, it's shoots great!  I've only fired Federal (American Eagle) 155 JFN so far, but accuracy is top notch and recoil, while stouter, doesn't seem to be slowing me down much over the 9mm loads.

the old style Mecgar and the factory 9mm mags..the feedlips are too small and the .40 round won't sit high enough to hit the feed ramp at the right height.

mecgar redesigned the AFC mags..and the .40 round will sit higher in the 9mm mag..or vice versa..a 9mm round will fit the new AFC .40 mags and feed reliably.

AbyssDncr how do you like the MecGar Mags. I have never tried them before, but have heard they are OEM for many manufacturers.

I absolutely love my CZ 75 TS 40....which CZ Custom changed the sights out on.  I use it for limited USPSA shoots.  One fine reasonable priced weapon.  Hope this gun catches on and they keep it around...as I would also like to pick up a 9 for my wife to shoot...accuracy is top notch and the trigger is outstanding right out of the box....

Well I was able to take it to the range today and it shot as all my other CZs shoot. Utter reliable and more accurate than me. I would haveliked a manual saftey but I will live. I am very glad that I picked this pistol up.
