CZ PO7 - Problem
« on: April 04, 2009, 10:30:05 PM »
I just purchased a new CZ PO7. I absolutely love the weapon. It fits my hand which makes it a natural "shooter" for me. This is the reason I am going to try to give it a chance. After purchasing the weapon I went  out on the line and put 100 rounds through it. After 92 of those 100 rounds the trigger stuck in the rear most position and had to be pried with a finger to break it free to reset. In the last 20 or so rounds it did occasionally reset (in a delayed manor) on its own.

After cleaning the weapon and reassembling it (applying a few drops of Rem Oil to the trigger and rear hammer/sear area) I discovered I could make the trigger stick to the rear by simply applying a firm 2 hand grip to the weapon (equal to, if not a little less then the amount of pressure that would be applied when in the midst of an adrenaline charged situation).

I love a lot of things about this weapon but it should have never left the factory like this. Please give me some good news that will salvage this situation.

Do CZ staffers or smiths participate in these forums?

Well sure there is that ASK CZ section. I'd give them a phone call come monday. Nothing made is always going to be 100%, sure having to send a new toy back is a bummer. Seems like if what you explain is true it needs to be fixed or replaced. There is a certain risk to getting the "new" hot product, clearly at times bugs need to be corrected. Maybe it's minor in nature but it's sure worth a phone call to CZ USA.

I spoke to CZ-USA very recently, and thier answer to anyone having issues, is call them. "No new gun should have issues". Sorry this happened, please call 1-800-955-4486 as soon as possible, and let us know what happens to rectify the situation.

Were I a betting kind of guy, I'd suspect that this is due to friction between the trigger bar and the thin part of the poly frame where it rides.

I noticed mine had a bit of friction when taking the slack out of the trigger and polished the trigger bar almost entirely (along with any other part showing wear) with my dremel & buffing wheel.  It's MUCH smoother now.

Might be worth a try for you guys.  I think the tear down & reassembly is pretty straight forward, even for those who aren't especially CZ savy.

Best of luck,
 :)
