I've been lurking on the forum for a while now but this one finally drew me out!
Put met in the crazy bin along with everyone else. I went to my local gun store a few months back just to nose around a bit and see what was in. I had an AR on order at the time and I was trying to get an update on delivery for that particular weapon. I had heard good things about CZ's from others but never really had considered them seriously as I was into other things. I decided out of sheer boredom to examine a CZ SP-01 tactical that was in the case and could not believe how comfortable the grip and ergonomics of the gun felt in my hands. A few days later, I was back to check it out again and came to the same conclusion. I bought the gun instantly and put my HK45 on sale through consignment right then and haven't looked back! 300 rounds through it and only one hiccup which came from not seating a mag properly. Plus, I shoot it much better than I have shot any other handgun. I don't see myself ever being skilled enough that the gun will be the thing holding me back.
Not only that, but I brought another convert along with me. A work colleague of mine was looking for a compact gun as a CCW pistol. I told him that I was planning on purchasing a CZ P-01 in a couple of months when I squared the funds away. We went to a local range that has rentals and he shot a glock, HK, XD, and M&P, along with my SP-01 tactical. He liked all of those guns but also really liked shooting mine. The only problem was, mine is not a compact. Now, two weeks later and he is going to go shoot again and this time, buy whichever gun feels the best. I made one request... Let's stop by this other store that has a P-01 just so that you can handle it and see how it feels. He was willing so we dropped on by. After 5 minutes handling it in comparison with an XD, M&P, and HK P30, he decided that the P-01 was the gun for him. This was just last week and he has now shot it a few times and is absolutely in love with it. I shot it earlier today and it just confirmed my plans to get one in a couple of months when I have the means financially.
I know that CZ's are spread all over the world. However, in some ways, I really feel that they are the best kept secret in handguns in the USA.
Great stuff, love the forum!
