Throating a Shadow barrel?
« on: April 21, 2009, 08:25:56 PM »
Hello: My first question here ;D I want to use my Glock and 1911 reloads for the CZ. I am using Precision 147 bullets and normally load them to a OAL of 1.140". The problem is that the CZ will not chamber this bullet at that length. I was wondering if anyone has throated there barrel so they could load to a longer length? I tried the 1.140" reloads in the CZ mags and they load with no problem. Let me know. Thanks, Eric

Haven't done it but it shouldn't be a problem.

I am curious, what bullet shape are the Precision 147s you are loading?  FWIW, I have no problem with Precision Delta 147 FMJ RN bullets loaded to 1.140" in any of my SP01s.  I have heard of some CZ barrels having exceptionally short chambers...it may be worthwhile calling CZ to see if they might be willing to do something about yours if that is the problem.

I see no problem in doing that..use to do that with 1911 barrels way back when shooting 9mm major using the 162rn bullet..also did it with a p9 shooting 9x21 major..

Hello: The Precision bullets are cone shaped with a flat point. I have the same problem with my Glock Mech-Tech using the Precision bullets. I have no problems with the Zero JHP 125gr 1.140" OAL in the Mech-Tech but they still won't fit in the CZ. I guess I will just ream the throat out then to fit the 147's. I appreciate the help guys. Thanks, Eric
