The 75B grips in their natural state are exactly the same as the factory grips. I am able though, to grind the texture off of the grips and polish them smooth, which would make them thinner. My only concern with that is that is keeping the screw head from sticking out uncomfortably.
The gold powder really is a gold colored metal powder. It doesn't quite have the identical look of a solid metal, since it is an emulsion of a clear liquid (epoxy) and microscopic grains of metal, but it does come fairly close. And I'm not sure how well the gold powder would mix with the colored epoxy. The gold powder emulsion has some real funky properties, such that the tiniest amount of powder tends to mix itself throughout the entire mixture. It might tend to overpower any other color.
And I'm not real clear on the texture question. The checkering is there from the molding process of the original. It is either that, or a slick polished effect.
Thanks
Paul,
Great looking grips! I am trying to figure out what I will order: one pair for a CZ83 and one pair for a CZ75B. On your grips for the CZ75B, how do they compare in thickness to the factory grips? From the pics they look like they might be a bit thinner - a good thing in my mind. Also, I am thinking about either the gold powder or the faux walnut for the CZ83. On your website the gold powder look almost like a teak colored wood. Are they really gold in appearance and can a wood grain be added to the gold powder? Can you add texture to any material?
Thanks so much for your producing grips to meet our needs. I do plan to send you an order as soon as I figure out what I want. Both of my CZ's are stainless finish and I am try to figure out what will look best on that color base.
