SP-01 Phantom VS CZ75B Stainless VS M&P Pro
« on: May 17, 2009, 06:41:06 PM »
I have a P06 and a SP01 Shadow. I really like the grip ergonomics on both.  I have held the M&P Pro and tried both grip inserts and the fit is not even close to the SP01 or P06. I am looking for a second 9mm that is either polymer or SS for ease of cleaning. Is the grip on the Phantom exactly the same dimensions as the Shadow?

It's a lot thinner.  The texture grips back.

I am pretty new to the forum, so I hope that you don't mind my jumping into the thread.  I just had related question.  I am considering purchasing a 9 mm.  I currently have a 97B.  I really like both the 75B Stainless and the SP-01 (Tactical).  Does anyone have a strong preference or any opinions you might like to offer?

Thanks,

John

I own both a SS 75B and an SP-01, both in 9mm . Not sure if my SP-01 is a Tactical model....but it is the all steel frame model. Love both guns but they definatly are a bit diffrent from each other. The SP-01 seems to fit me a bit better, since I have large hands. It is also slightly heavier than the 75B which helps in second shot recovery. Also slightly diffrent ergonomics between the two.  But I also love my SS 75b , not to mention its a lot prettier than the SP-01. I would recommend buying both if you can..lol.( I have another 75B in black polycoat that I bought first ) . It really depends on what your intended purpose is ...if you are going to carry then the SS would be easier to conceal and lighter. Both seem to shoot just as accuratly as my first CZ75B. Oh, my SP-01 came standard with nite sights and has the laser /light mount , but do you need those features? The best thing to do if you are only able to choose one is to try out some elses gun and see which one you feel more comfortable with. I was trying to find a SS75B for two years and just happened to find one local and I just couldnt pass it upeven though I already had two CZ's .

I think you can't go wrong with either one. The stainless steel 75B is a real looker and I have my heart set on one. Good luck.

I still have 2 pre Bs, so the Phantom looks exciting and sexy to me.
25% less weight than a 75B.

If not a new RAMI P this summer, then the Phantom for me.

Hownever...never give up your search if you really don't like polymer framed guns.

My 75B Stainless was a superb gun. They can turn out really well.

The 75B Stainless IS a great gun....... and if you are a CZ fanatic, you must have one at some point. Sometimes the weight of a 75 is an advantage, depending on the use. Mine is more of my "keeper pistol".... as I have a 75D P-01 for carry and most of my range shooting.  The Stainless is such a great "looker"  I don't want to abuse it in any way !   Yeah ....... I know what you're thinking ......   ;)

Thanks for the feedback.  I appreciate your insights.

Clarkston,

Great picture.  The grips look great.

Re: the 75 Stainless model - Which do you prefer the old or the new frame?  It seems as though, at the moment, I can only find the old frames.
