P07 Magazine issues
« on: May 29, 2009, 01:59:22 AM »
I spoke to CZ-USA about the sticking mag issues, and I was advised this indicates defective magazines. Please call 1-800-955-4486 and ask to speak to Matt or Justin, and they will work with you on swapping magazines with you. Hope this helps!

:) ........I'm happy to say that the P-07 I bought about a month ago has never had a sticky mag problem.......press the release and both mags slide out easily. Thanks for the info , tho on who to call in case other problems should come up. Got to say the P-07 exceeds my expectations as a fun gun to shoot.

Is there no alternative to sending in the entire weapon for warranty?  I just spoke to CZ and was issued a return auth.  I would prefer not to be without the weapon for 4-6 weeks if it's just a matter of replacing magazines.

Originally, the magazines would drop free, no problems at all.  Now, it acts about like a mag brake would in say my 75B.  It's not effected the firing of the weapon, but does not seem to be functioning as intended.  If the magazine is full, it will drop, slowly.  If empty, it will stop in a few centimeters of drop.

That is exactly how mine acts MarvTG. I do not think it is the mags.... but we'll see since I ordered 2 more and they should be here soon. I'm not going to do without unless the functionality is something critical. I know some consider this critical, and it could be in some situations. BUT I can still easily get the mags out, they just don't drop more than 1/3" IF they do drop....... So far only complaint and it is a great firing/fun gun! Hope it holds up..... And where are some holsters???  ???

The poly duty style ones are on the way. other than that, try non moulded or semi moulded ones for Glock 19.

thanks for the reply AM. I saw another post that said the holster for G19 worked but when tested by another member he said it didn't... maybe just that style. Also I have seen the 2 Duty holsters on the CZ site AND would go for the open end/with paddle but that doesn't seem to be a choice even though it is on their website.... I just recently became a proud CZ owner and can only say good things regardless of the mag issue.

I have 3 mags for my P-07 and none of them will drop freely, loaded or unloaded.  I is a minor annoyance, but something I can certainly live with.

I just shot my P-07 today for the first time and my mags would not release at all . I had to pry them out with my fingers . It wouldnt do it even before I shot it but I thought it would loosen up a bit but nope  :'(
I'll call CZ tommarow .   The trigger really felt like it was dragging on the frame . It was terrible .
I sure hope this pistol gets better .  I guess my CZ-75B spoiled me .  But seriously , this gun shouldnt have these issues .

Howdy everyone. First post here @ the CZ forum. Let me know if I'm "doing it wrong." :D

I got my P07 a few weeks ago from Bud's and noticed quickly that the mags that would not drop, consistently.

After a break in period of about 100 release and insertions the problem became very consistent. My mags would fail to drop the first time and then would proceed to drop every time after that.
If I set the gun aside for a few minutes, the first try would always fail and then work perfectly after that for as many release as I had patience for.
As I put it: The mags drop 99% of the time, but fail to drop 100% of the time on the only drop that counts.

Sent it off to CZ-USA for warranty work and got it back in record time. Glad to report that empty mags drop the first time, every time.
I decided to push my luck and loaded a mag with 15 rounds of Blazer Brass and the mag will not drop at all. I have to pull it out. I took out 5 rounds and the issue persists.

I really like this gun, so I'm gonna go actually shoot it a bit and see how it behaves. I have a decent collection of CZ pistoles and I've never had this problem with any of them. They're all metal of course, but I don't think this should be happening with a piece from a company like CZ.

To add insult to injury the white marking on my front sight did a "Geronimo" onto my bedroom floor after just a couple of slide releases. Nice. :-\

The gun was pretty oiled up, so it's not that big of a deal. Easy enough to replace. Anyone know of a metal replacement for the front sight?

Is it unreasonable for me to expect the mags to drop from the gun every time under any circumstances?

HOLY DONKEY FARTS!!!

I thought the serial number on the P07 I got back today, looked a little different.

They didn't give me different mags, they gave me a whole nuther gun!!!

My wire bound book and the paperwork from CZ proves it.

No wonder I got it back in record time.

So what the hell does this mean for me? I'm in uncharted territory here and did I just trade one big problem for two smaller ones?

Love my P07 but now my slide won't stay back after the last round has been fired when using one of my magazines.  From what I can tell if just one mag is doing it then this is a mag problem so I guess I'll be contacting CZ as well.  This same magazine also does not drop about 30% of the time, I suspect a weak spring just from reading around the internets.  Anybody else have the hold open problem?  .

Hold open one one mag only is a mag problem, call Justin. As for new guns, that is something they have been doing to make sure customers get a good pistol. If you have other problems, make sure you contact Justin or Mike, and let them know ASAP.

I will be picking up my P-07 tomorrow (Monday). Hopefully, I will have zero problems. But is there a range of S/N's that match with pistols that have had problems?

The serial number on my P-07 was A590998 . It would not release mags , it would drag the trigger so bad that the trigger owuld sometimes not reset itself , and the guide rod was eat-up only after 110 rounds ! It was the biggest piece of crap of a gun that I ever bought!
CZ sent me a whole new gun and its serial number was A651935 .  I took it out ,looked at it and then traded it in on a new XD-9 Sub Compact the next day .  I got a very sour taste in my mouth after all that . I could never carry that gun , even the new one that they sent me , knowing that something else could be lurking around waiting to fail .
I will buy another P-07 in a few years when they get the bugs out .
So look at my first guns serial number and that should tell you about where to avoid . The new one worked good and had a great trigger . So A651935 and on should be good to go .

Thanks for the info TERCEL. I do understand not wanting to carry even the new one. It could be your life. Hopefully, the one I get will be sweet. IF it has problems that cannot be fixed, well I would not carry it either.

This will be my first CZ.
