Sotomayor Poll on Yahoo
« on: July 10, 2009, 03:31:43 PM »
Found this poll on Yahoo. Interesting results considering Yahoo isn't exactly a conservative site.

I'm happily surprised by the Sotomayor results.

I agree the results are encouraging.  But sadly none of the folks voting in this survey are likely US Senators whose votes really count.

It hate to say it but I will be shocked unless it is a done deal.

Barring a complete melt-down on her part, she will soon be Justice Sotomayor.

I enjoyed her comment when asked about her stance on the 2nd amendment:

"I have friends who hunt and my god son is an NRA member."

Wow really your god son? Oh my!

That's like when people say things such as "I have nothing against (other races, gays, religious groups), in fact my friend is "insert group here"

Such a cop out thing to say.

Its only fair that our first affirmative action POTUS should appoint an affirmative action justice for the SCOTUS!

She is what we used to call a "grind" in law school, just bright enough to understand the basics, but willing to work her ass off to learn the right thing to say to impress on exams and a real suck-up with Law profs.

No deep intellectual or philosophical understanding of the law or knowledge in general, just what she got "grinding" through the reading material. What a dull tool!  She meets the Roman Hruska test:

"Even mediocre people deserve representation on the Court!"

She's impressed no one, as the poll makes clear.
