Just back from opening weekend here in Texas. We had cold mornings with bright mild afternoons. Great hunting weather. My little CZ 527 in 7.62x39 was back in the field and performing up to my highest expectations. I took this 10 point at about 50 yards from the stand. He had been chasing a doe through the frosty grass. He paused for a second to check his surroundings and I took the shot. A single shoulder shot that took out both lungs. He ran for about 20 yards and folded. This buck was big by Texas standards. It took two of us to carry him out after gutting. I'd guess his weight, less guts, at about 150. This is the 6th deer I have harvested with the 527. Its a very accurate rifle that always puts the bullet where I am looking. At the 100 yard range I have shot MOA - not always, but when I don't its not the rifle. Here are some camera phone pics:

Thanks for looking.
