I have a tactical SP-01 and I shoot it at every match. Very accurate with low recoil. If you are going to shoot it at a major match make sure it makes the weight limit under 39oz.

As was stated, making the 39oz weight limit with the magazine is one of the challenges, but it can be done.

I shot mine in the 2008 Washington IDPA State Championships in SSP and had a great time shooting it.
There are SP-01s, older models with the 2 slots under the rail that will make weight and I did have a SP-01 Tactical that also made weight.

The double action first shot to single action subsequent shots didn't take much to get used to and since I was also shooting it in USPSA production division it was nice to be able to also shoot it in IDPA.  I've also shot it ESP in matches both cocked and lock as well as hammer down start.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in but I also have a question on IDPA. I have the SP01 but with the single action trigger. is the allowed in IDPA ? if I make the weight limit.

Thanks,
Tom

I don't believe so, as that pistol has not only need to make weight of the SSP division but also qualify as an SSP division pistol (either DA or DA/SA).  Since it is SAO it would not appear to qualify.  But like anything else, that's just my opinion and you should get clarification from the club you shoot IDPA with and if necessary they can get clarification from IDPA headquarters.
