SP-01 Polymer why a decocker?
« on: August 18, 2009, 02:10:38 PM »
Hello everyone I'm new to these forums.  I was at the Bass Pro Shop last week and I was able to check out a new CZ SP-01 Phantom.  I have nothing against "plastic" pistols.  This is the first one that I have handled that felt good in my hands.  It felt like it was made for my hands.  I would of bought it if it had not been for the decoker.  For me this would be more of a liablity then safety device.  I learned to shoot with a 1911 so my thumb is on the saftey.  I would use this gun for house gun, range, and compation.  And of course since it is so light cc would be an option, but with the decocker I would not be able to take advantage of the sweet SA trigger pull.  I emailed CZ-USA asking them if they plan on making a Phantom with a saftey I have not heard back from them.  Does anybody else fill this way?  Is there little interest because it is a polymer frame gun.

You are not alone.....

I have wanted a manual safety PCR since I first got into CZ's.  Thought the phantom was pretty neat, but just can't do the CZ decockers.

It'd depressing, I know.
