Hi Artist. Where is the cave pictured in your avatar? It's name?

Mountaincoulee,

I wish I could remember the name and location exactly, it's a watercolor painting I did when I went on a 4 week vacation through Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico. The place does exist and it is an amazing place to visit. The ruins really make you think. They are built right into the cliff face and they take you back to when this area was a thriving Native American community.

This is a much better look at the painting. You can actually see the ruins unlike in the avatar.

Very nice luminosity in your work.

I've been fortunate to visit many Anasazi ruins in the Four Corners area. The depth and extent of these cliffs remind me of either Canyon de Chelly N.M., or Mesa Verde N.P., probably the latter. The Anasazi's is an amazing story of survival adaptation in an inhospitable land.

Thanks for posting the larger version.

Mountaincoulee,

Thank you very much.

The photo of the painting doesn't capture the colors very well, the background detail washed out as well as the subtle blue of the sky. A camera just can't capture the organic quality of a watercolor painting. But as far as photos of paintings go it's not to bad.
