6 inch barrel on CZ SP01

Has anyone of you gents know of this (stainless-aftermarket)6 inch barrel fitted into a SP01 ?

Does 6 inch barrel increase the muzz velocity than if a 4 incher / stock barrel has installed?

What do you reckon ?

we have slighltly extended barrels on Shadows in my country to meet our 120mm minimum (about 5")

in general for any firearm a longer barrel length = greater muzzle velocity, other factors held constant

cant comment of differences as we only have the long version, dont see what the selling point for a 6" barrel is ....but maybe I need educating.

the SP01 variations use  a larger diameter barrel than the std CZ75/85 so make sure you order the correct diatmeter.

yes for the same load, you should get a velocity increase with a longer barrel

An extra 1" or 1.25" won't yield much of a velocity increase for the money you would spend on the modification other than the bragging rights to tell everyone that have a 6 incher:-)  I am sure there is a maximum barrel length for 9mm of around 16"-18" (I could be wrong about that figure) after which no further increase in velocity is achieved and in fact the projectile slows due to friction.

When I used the Australian shadow with exteneded barrel I saw NO increase in velocity

Thanks for input on the barrel issue, Our local gun law permit us to have aftermarket barrels. Unlike US Gun policy differ from Handgun barrel and rifle length, our Gov't restricts them basically not be converted to Full Auto, as some enterprising individual have done with Glock drop in units.

I am look for aternative for Carry Handgun, but I was thinking of using the Full Size handgun as CCW, and max the options to have the longest aftermarket barrel. Our CCW laws now restrict IWB OWB hosters, and limited to using carry all bag to tranport legal CCW.

I was thinking on the line of HK USP with extended barrel, w/c perform better in term of Muzzle velocity that stock barrel.

Can any of you tell me when using re finished SP01 and aftermarket enhancements like barrel, grips, sights, spring guide & springs, disqualify my unit from PD class IPSA tournament ?
