Here's a couple pix of my recently purchased CZ Rami 40. I paid $370, and it looks like new. I have yet had a chance to shoot it, I may try and get out this Sunday and run a couple hundred rounds through it. Hope it runs as good as my CZ 75BD does. The 75 has never had even one failure of any kind. I hope I can fall in love with the Rami too. Now I have to see if I can find one of the shorter mags......Shoo

Absolutely agree!  That is a great price.  From the pictures the gun looks like it's in great shape.  Haven't tried the polymer rami, but i'm sure it feels about the same.

Oh and good luck findin the short mags....they were discontinued for the .40 rami and darn near impossible to find.

Enjoy your range time. Let us know how it goes.

Yep, I'd say you about got a steal!  Great shape too.   Don't worry about finding the shorter mags.  I have a Rami that I CCW most days and with that bobtail angled cut on the back of the 14 round mag., I haven't noticed much difference in concealability veresus the 10 round mags.  Enjoy and let us know how she shoots.  Dusty

Well I finally got a chance to shoot my as new Rami 40, along with my friend's Rami 9mm duo-tone that I sold to him but never had a chance to shoot. His 9mm ran perfectly, was supremely accurate for me, and just a real joy to shoot. My Rami 40 was very similar in felt recoil, obviously a little snappier though, was also very accurate. Now the problems I encountered. The gun appeared to be unfired or maybe just a round or two through it when I bought it. I used Winchester white box target rounds along with Winchester white box JHP's, and also Blazer brass. I had lots of fail to feeds with the nose of the bullet diving into the bottom of the ramp with both mags, and I had several times when the round wouldn't fully go into the chamber. I don't think I made it through one complete 8 round mag without a problem. I really liked shooting it but something has to be done. I know it's not broken in yet, but I can't see the nose dives getting any better. Guess I'll contact CZ and see if they can help me out somehow. This gun was made in '06 so I don't know if that was after the problem time frame or not. I obviously can't even begin to think about carrying this yet. Of course, my trusty CZ75BD ran like a Rolex, I hope I can get the Rami to run almost as good. I'd appreciate anyone's help on how I should proceed getting this problem fixed, or on who I should contact. Thanks in advance, Shoo

I'd contact CZ-USA. They'll probably be slammed for the next week or so due to the SHOT show just concluding. My '04 RAMI .40 S&W had a lot of problems when I bought it second hand-it had been trashed by the previous owner. I sent it in to CZ and their magicians fixed it at no charge...not to say that that is what they'll charge you  ;D

Thanks Otto, That's just what I'm going to do. My Rami is basically new, as you can see in the pictures. I spoke with someone named Rich at CZ-USA. He said I could send in the barrel and the slide, or send in the whole gun. I'd rather send them everything including the mags. My ramp is really nicely polished but there is a sharp burr right at the bottom edge. Thought I'd better let them take care of it instead of me touching it. Hopefully I'll get a perfectly functioning gun back, I really like the feel and accuracy and I want to keep this one. I'll post an update once I get it back, with any luck they will see that the gun is like new and fix it for me for free. Thanks again, Shoo

I know nothing of the .40 RAMI's. BUT some experiance with the early 9mm. From this forum and other reads, and some real time.
The 9mm is reliable w/ 10 round (short) factory magazines. Less reliable with the 14 round magazines. Increased magazine spring strenght seems to help. Good luck, keep us posted.
Any particlar reason you went to the .40 round?

CZ will make it right for you, sir, best of luck. I think '06 was the year of the 40 RAMI issues, disremember off the top of my head, sorry.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments. I had originally wanted a 9mm Rami and found one on Gunbroker last year. It was a Duo-Tone poly frame with only 20 rounds through it, and I stole that one for $380. When I went to pick it up, suddenly I couldn't get through the FBI NICS check. It took me over 6 months to get that straightened out and during that time I got very frustrated and let my friend buy it from me. I never even got to bring it home or shoot it. So when my NICS checks started going through again I really wanted to find another Rami. I came upon this near new and possibly unfired Rami 40 at my buddy's gunstore and couldn't turn it down fro $370. I like 9mm better, but was happy to see that the 40 really doesn't feel much different than the 9mm in felt recoil. And I shot both Rami's equally well. Now hopefully CZ gets my Rami 40 to run like my friend's Rami 9. From what you guys are telling me it sounds like CZ will take good care of me. Thanks again and I'll let you know how things work out, I sent it out today, Shoo

:P Well CZ-USA has my Rami, it's been about a week and I'm waiting patiently. I haven't heard anything yet so I'm thinking that's a good sign. Hope they can work their magic and get it back to me soon. looks like I'll have to carry the new Taurus 709 Slim I'm getting today or might even have to put the CZ 75BD in it's holster for carrying. Decisions, decisions.....  Shoo
