Frustration
« on: January 08, 2010, 11:27:39 AM »
There I was, all loaded up with 9mm, 7.62x39, and 22lr, and ready to enjoy an outing to my range. Weekday morning, no crowd, son in school, all good.

Yeah, right.

Weather was absolutely calm and wonderful when I pulled out, and the range is a scant 9.4 miles, (finally measured it), away. 54 degrees, sun just coming up over the horizon, ahhh, perfect.

Right up until I was two miles from the range, and the wind popped up out of nowhere, enough to push my little car over on the road. Now remember, this is a desert, and we have had very little rain lately...so now picture billowing clouds of dust. I persevered, and made it to the range, only to find every bay covered in wind whipped dust. I would have had to wear a mask just to get out of the car, and no target would have survived. Using several non family friendly words, I returned home, and began cleaning house. Hey, if you have frustrated energy, might as well use it, eh?

WOW, Mr's got a keeper. Thinking I would have come up with about 100 projects before cleaning the house came to mind O0

Sorry, couldn't resist - had a great day at the range with dleong yesterday ;D
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

I would've shot the living heck out of every piece I'd packed (good real-world testing, then maybe a write up). Instead of cleaning the house, you could have more fun cleaning weapons! ;D

But that's just me.

I may take you up on that offer to move to AZ where ranges are so close to home.

You'll need some off road tires, but no stairs at this one. C'mon down. Good idea, but that much dust would have required an actual dust mask, which I didn't have.

Wow... I figured Mrs A. to be an exceptional woman but her power to summon up a dust storm is simply awesome. ;D
