CZ 75BD First Trip to the Range (sorry, no pics)

Just today I stripped down, degreased, and oiled my brand new CZ75BD (my very first handgun) and took her out to the range.  I always fear the worst coming into these types of situations, so I was ready for the possibility of a few failures of some kind, but to my utter delight there was not a single hiccup in my first 100 rounds of WWB.  This gun is a lot more accurate than I am, so there is huge room for improvement of my end in terms of accuracy, but even I (an extremely novice shooter) was able to land a few rounds within the bullseye from 25 yards. I could not be more satisfied with this gun unless it came stuffed with money . To anyone reading this and considering purchasing one, do it. There's no conspiracy; these guns have earned every bit of their reputation.

you mention you are a novice shooter. Here is a sample of a pistol correction target (for right handers, it is opposite for left handers). These help get an idea of patterns and how they might start to get corrected.

  Hi Frosty, Great range report on a fantastic gun ! I absolutely love my 75BD, it rocks ! It also eats ammo like crazy, eats everything I feed it without complaint. It has only had one failure to load in a few thousand rounds, and that was on Sunday using cheap Brown Bear steel cased ammo. Mine is also supremely accurate. Wow Shooboy that is a really nice set of grips! I assume they are Hakans as armoredman said? Halfway through my day at the range I changed out my stockers for a Hogue wrap around rubber grip; it was a VERY tight fit, took around 10 minutes to put on, but better extra snug than extra loose, right? The difference was night and day; the added control felt amazing. Glad to see I'm not the only one with a decocker, seems like they are a bit of a rarity, even on these boards.  Too bad all the home trigger jobs seem to exclude the decockers (not that I'd even consider it before 1,000 rounds). I'm really hoping the double action smooths out soon though; I've dry fired it a few hundred times with the snap cap that came with the gun but there's no noticeable difference so far. Single action out of the box is great though.

On a somewhat unrelated topic, I saw some really nice looking smithed brass grips for the 75B on youtube; probably heavy as hell, but they looked amazing!

 Hi armoredman, Yes, the grips are Hakans. The prop rod is a Shoorod. I used to make these to order in either white or black Delrin, with the buyer's choice of calibers in the spent case that holds them together, right up to and including 500 Magnum. I really don't advertise them for sale but I have made some upon special request, usually purchased when someone buys one of my Shooboy Custom Gunsmithing Hammers, such as the Shooboy Midnite-Pro shown below.
