Early ZKK600 Someone knows date of introduction?
« on: February 27, 2010, 12:18:05 PM »
Hi to all of you CZ rifle nuts...

something like saddish when I sold my ZKK601 I looked forward to get another one.
Yesterday I got it! - And I am with you again - I feel so happy....

I got this ZKK 600 in .30-06 proofed in 1966 with a ooxxx serial number. Wonderful MC-stock with fine checkering. Muzzle polished like a mirror. All in all quite different in quality and finish - compared to my sold rifle (601 from 1970).
I guess there are remarkably losses of quality during first years of production.
Any rifle out there that could do better than this one?
Well I think she will stay with me since Ill go 6 feet under.

With some accessories: "shotguntrigger", ZKK-tool to hold the spring of the firing pin and the little bag.

mounted scope is a Carl Zeiss Jena ZF 4

a little detail. note the logo, engraved into the scope mount. I really love this way of scope mounting - are your mouths watering too?

The "Trade Mark" few years later, marking changed

The well polished muzzle. Nice!

frontsight is set a little back. A little smell of an english classic big bore rifle for africa.

The buttplate: Pachmayr White Line - there are no traces of manipulation. I really think theese have been OEM

My sources claim that production started "in the mid sixties". Does anymone have some more precisely information?

Please let us know.

Best regards from Germany.

That sounds about right.  They were in production before I started secondary school, which was the late '60s.  DeHaas' book claims 1965 was the introduction year, but I have never seen anything to corroborate that.  The ZKK series was the replacement for the ZG-47.

I first heard about them in the early '70s from a guy a little older than me that rotated back stateside from Viet Nam.  He claimed to have shot a scoped ZKK 600 that belonged to an Australian military sniper.
