Well I promised myself I would stay out of the gun store for a while, didn?t work!
I decide that?s if the last of two 1911 Blackwater was still there I would get it!
So I went back in the hopes of buying a second Sig 1911 Blackwater, I had recently purchased a few days ago, and was very impressed to say the least. Well the 1911 Blackwater was gone as I figured!
Out of frustration I looked at the 1911, 5? stainless steel Heritage model from Dan Wesson once again but this time I took my time and looked at it very carefully, I was overwhelmed by the built quality and the way this gun felt in my hand, with a serial number of "30"that was it I said wrapper her up this one coming home with me.

This was the tightest slide to frame fit I have ever felt including some of high end guns worth twice the amount this gun was selling for..
The trigger broke like glass and the action and hammer like butter!
If this gun shoots as well as it looks and feels. I?ll stop carrying the Blackwater that I have over 700 flawless rounds thru and make the Dan Wesson my new carry gun.
Then I?ll box up the 1911 Blackwater as it is a discontinued gun and will be in demand once the few out there dry up, this is the type of gun I would really like to keep as pristine as possible for my sig collection and hopefully pass on!
Well you can imagine how anxious I was to head down to the range and try this NIB DW Heritage out!
The1911 DW Heritage came with two good looking mags from Check Mate, made in the USA with the DW logo on one side, nice touch.
I also purchased two new Kim Pro Tac mags from Kimber, as well as set of mags from my new Sig 1911 Blackwater pistol.
Loaded them all up with PMC FMJ 230 gr, 400 rounds I also took two boxes of 40 Speer Gold Dots JHP 230 gr. as well.
This gun performed and handled flawlessly till I got around 300, I had some issues with the Sig mags which wedged a few bullets in the mag ,
on two occasions, but after repeated usage disappeared. This did not occur with any of the other mags I brought along.
The shooting was done at ranges of mostly 10 yards some 15 yards unsupported from the ready and coming up to fire!
Quickly lowering after every double tap or single shot and then quickly coming up again to fire.
The target in the center was shot with the first 8 rounds I loaded slow fire, the targets on the right and left were double taps, a little faster, as I was aiming to double tap the numbers around the bulls eye as well!
All I have to say, is if I were any of the high end gunsmith / makers I would be shaking in my boots with the Dan Wesson line up of fine guns at 1 /3 the cost!
