My CZ-91S Skorpion, .380 cal
« on: May 25, 2010, 04:40:07 PM »
Hello, this is my CZ made, CZ-91 Skorpion, chambered in .380, it is the real deal with the folding stock and all, and I own it it Canada of all places!

Its an excellent gun and I absolutely adore it. We do have SBR laws in Canada but not to the extent you guys in the US have them. This gun counts as a pistol anyways, even though it has the folding stock. This gun has pretty much sold me on CZ designs. Field stripping is amazing with the hinged receiver and takes seconds.

If you have a good eye you may have noticed the finish is not standard, the stock enamel finish which isn't much to write home about has been replaced by JG Gunkote and the grip is finished in Brownell's Alumahyde II. I find it much nicer this way, and infact, I was thinking about buying a second thought of cocking knobs and coating them with the Brownell's Alumahyde II to make them easier to grab, and if it turns out ugly or something I'd still have the original knobs.

But I have a few questions for you CZ gurus, I was wondering where I could get a fixed wood or synthetic stock like in these photos.

It seems CZ made them at some point so I'd like to try to get one, can some of you guys possibly point me to a website or something in the Czech republic that stocks accessories and spare parts for these guns? I'm also a bit interest in an OKO Red Dot sight. If not I was thinking about modifying a spare wooden VZ-58 stock by attaching a spare stock hinge to it and I think that may work, but it might be a lot of work.

Thank you for any help, and feel free to ask questions!

Yeah, the OKO sights seem to be findable but the problem is the unique model that clamps onto the front of the Skorpions upper receiver, I may have to call that importer but he has no website and I've never heard of him and sounds quite strange haha, thanks for the help.

Also the lack of an underbarrel rail makes putting a forward grip a bit of a challenge (also they're ugly as sin on a gun like this) and I have fairly big hands so they could get a bit bunched up. To remedy this I made a home made mac-11 forward strap out of a bit of sling that attaches at the butt of the stock and allows you to have a nice foregrip while the stocks folded, which is how I prefer to shoot it most of the time as its more fun, and I'm quite tall so the small stock can be a bit awkward unless I'm shooting quite far out, this makes the gun much nicer to hold and lets you put a lot of downward force on the muzzle, it also looks quite cool in an 80s action movie sort of way which I like. Its made in such a way that you can still unfold the stock as well.

Lolz got a necro warning fir this thread. The guy above asked about history, and I believe these were factory guns. If ya do a lil digging you will find a 9x19 model out there too, don't think it was factory tho
