When 85 series trigger will be available?
« on: August 15, 2010, 06:24:13 AM »
I bought a shadow for IPSC, the gun is decent, but the new style trigger is giving me hell. Worst trigger pull ever, in SA I REALLY struggle with the curved trigger.

In website the old style trigger are shown "available early august 2010", when they will be ready for order?

Thanks for any info.

Are they much different from older Shadows?

there are two new styles: one is very similar to the tanfoglio trigger (so similar I suppose is manifactured from the same source) and it's the worst. Thin, curved, absolutely awful. One is slightly straighter but much more curved and thinner than then older style. It's uncomfortable, to say the very least.

Interesting, mine is '08 and came straight from cz-ub, I think it has '85 trigger.

Interesting, mine is '08 and came straight from cz-ub, I think it has '85 trigger.

They're both 85 triggers. CZUB changed the style of newer-production 75 and 85 triggers.

I had an original-/old-style ("thick") 85C trigger fitted to my Shadow (an '09), which came equipped with the new-style ("thin") 85C trigger. Note the difference in contours.

Both have accomodations for an overtravel screw:

Photos posted of recent ('09+) 85 Combats feature this trigger as well, further confirming that both triggers are in fact 85C triggers.

Recent-production standard 75Bs use triggers with the same new-style contour, just lacking the overtravel screw (as they always have versus the 85C trigger). Judging from photographs, it appears that the stainless 75Bs use yet another trigger contour, unlike both the old- and new-styles posted here. (I have not yet had a chance to handle a SS 75B.)

I see, mine came with 'thick' one.
So, why is thinner trigger worse? Is it the curve (looks very close/similar) or something else?

Is it the curve (looks very close/similar) or something else?

Both the side profile as well as the face contour changed. This results in a completely different trigger feel. Very un-CZ-feeling.

While you can note the difference in a photograph, it is much more apparent in person, especially when you handle it.

There is no problem with the NEW style 85 Combat trigger, it is really a  matter of feeling, some prefer the new style because it sets a  little furthur back some prefer the old style curve really it is a matter of feel.
I know its difficult if you do not have the chance to actually shot one.

but I prefer the old style that why we made them.

Angus Duhhhh!

I just can't wait to order one or two (just in cause..)of the thick triggers.

The new style is better than the ultracurved one (very similar to the one on the infamous tanfoglio pistols..)but the original one is better than the others.
