Have you had this happen?
« on: September 26, 2005, 12:59:17 PM »
Ive been getting into shooting IDPA matches lately. My CZ85C has been great, if not lonely out there amongst all the  glocks. Has anyone had this happen with theirs?
After shooting a while, say 4 courses of fire, in the heat, gun all gunky, dirty, hot,etc... I empty a mag, drop it, insert new one and at the moment of the magazine clicking home having the slide 'automagically' release and slam forward, without using the slide release?

After finishing the course, and at home, I have not been able to get this to happen, dirty or clean.  I dont know if this means the slide release is getting worn, or just the particular mixture of burnt powder, lube, and heat are just combining to make it very slippery in there when I slam another mag in.  I dont guess I can complain much, since it makes reloads very fast for me!

I've had that happen with a range Glock, but not with any of my personal handguns. It kind of catches you off guard.

"Enthusiastic reloads" is a good way to put it.

I think all reloads should be "enthusiastic".  It could be a real b*tch should that mag drop at the most unopportune time.

I'll second that.  I had that happen at the last local match I shot.  How embarrassing!

It happens a lot with my 85 Combat.  It's been kicked around on forums before.  Sounds like the consensus of those who know was...

it saves time and effort.

I have a Glock 34 that does this with several mags, but not with others.  I wish all my guns did it with all my mags.
