Question for CZ85B owners

I have a CZ85B that has less than 2,000 rounds through it and not so long ago, when I cleaned the gun and re-assembled it, the slide release on the RIGHT side of the gun fell out.  I can snap it back in place, but I can also push the LEFT side slide release out easily with just my finger when I'm field stripping the gun(I used to have to use a hard object).  When the RIGHT side slide release fell out the NEXT time I cleaned it, I examined it.  One side of the hollow pin that goes into the frame has  a kinda lip on it.  The side across from it is smooth (no kinda lip).  I can't tell if a piece of metal broke off or not.  How easily should this piece come off the frame, and, if one of you can take yours out- what does it look like?  Is mine broke?  Thanks in advance Walt (and anyone else) for the help.

Be prepared to "scroll" right.  This large illustration distorts the line length.

There is supposed to be a retaining SPRING in place that holds both the slide stop and the right side lever in place.

Sounds like that broke or is mispositioned.  In a properly assembled 85B, that spring must be lifted to insert the
right side lever.

In the following display, look at parts 3 and 65, and you'll see a groove in 65 that accepts part 3.  Part 3 must be
broken or not aligned properly in your gun.   (If you move to the right in the display, you'll also see a parts list.)

That part number 65 on my gun isn't even a complete circle or pin- meaning an entire top portion of the piece is gone!  I've also never seen part 3 before, but I'll look for it.  I assume that it is totally fine since part 65 is so badly damaged- half of the darn thing is missing!  Time to contact CZ USA.  Thanks Walt.

Matt,  The same thing happened to my Combat except in reverse order.
First I had ordered the spring.  When it came and I went to install it I noticed the right slide stop collar had broken.
Both were covered under warranty.
BTW Go ahead and order the spring(part 3) the new one I was sent was much stouter than the original.
This was the CZ gunsmiths solution to the slide locking back on a loaded mag.

CZ-USA wants to recieve my old part before they'll send the new one- oh well.  Don- you really think I should ask them to include a spring (part 3) as well even though I've had no other problems.  And more to the point- would they send one without me having a specific problem?

Well, as the springs on CZs in general seem to be weak. It would be prudent to go ahead and replace it as long as you or CZ is paying for shipping anyway. The part itself can't cost very much. It's the shipping that kills.
My Combat was manufactured in '99.  The replacement spring was noticeably thicker than the original.  Oh and I guess I am assuming that you didn't loose the spring in the first place.

"Would they send you one?"  I'm sure if you ask they would.

In short If your slide stop spring is the older weaker type, yes I do recommend a replacement...Ask Mike, the gunsmith at CZ, he might be able to tell by the year of manufacture.
