9mm CZ Custom Shadow vs Custom Shadow Target
« on: December 04, 2010, 08:26:53 PM »
I shoot a 75B with production class mods and like it.
I've shot my son's Custom Shop SPO1 Shadow and love it.

The only thing I would like added to the Custom Shop Shadow is adjustable rear sights (with a sight face similar to the Comp rear);  so I have some questions:

Is the "Custom Shop Shadow Target" the same gun with fully adj. rear sights:
Is the Target adj. rear sight face comparable to the Competition rear sight face?
Is it 'sans' firing pin interrupt?
Is the frame and slide identical?
Does it come with the extended firing pin?
Why is it listed "cheaper" than the Custom Shadow  ($1190 for the Target vs $1200 for the Shadow)??

Maybe a better way to ask is, what are the differences in the two Custom Shop versions of the Shadow vs Shadow Target beside the grips and rear sight??

Thanks,
Don

Don,

I have a Shadow Target.  Below is a list of differences, I believe.

1. rear sight (comp/fixed vs adjustable)
2. grips (aluminum vs wood)
3. springs (custom has lighter ones)

Everything else should be the same.  Neither has extended firing pin.

Ken

Stuart, The CZ Custom site said the "Custom" Target and the Shadow  both have the CZ Custom hammer.
Ken,  I would really appreciate a rear view pic of the "TARGET" adj. sight if it's not too much trouble.

? Fiber Optic Front Sight
? CZ Custom SA DA Hammer & Main Spring
? Stainless Steel Guide Rod

? Tune Trigger Components (Reduces Single and Double action trigger pull)
? Install and Tune 13lb Main Spring and 11lb Recoil Spring

? Re profile and Polish Dis connector and associated surfaces.
? Re Profile Slide Stop For Magazine release with Heavy / Long Bullets
? Polish underside of Dis connector rail and break breach face edge
?CocoBolo Fully Checkered Grips

?Includes 3 Magazines
?Reliability Check. Zero Check with Winchester White Box Ammo
Not for sale to CA Not on DOJ Approved List

I'm assuming the "Not for sale in California" means no firing pin interrupt.

Without the longer FP, my 75B would'nt reliably fire those Win White Box rds about 2% of the time with the 13# hammer spring..

I'll put up a couple of pics tomorrow night.  Thus far, with 13# hammer spring and 11# recoil spring, I have not had any light strike in about 2,500 rounds.

Stuart -- the Target does have the custom hammer.

I have the shadow custom woth the 13lb hammer spring and have not had any light primer strikes either. I have shot WWB, Monarch, PMC, Wolfe, Remington, UMC, Blazer, and some more I'm sure.

If Wolfe and Blazer primers fire then it should be good-to-go.  Maybe the CZ Custom hammer is the difference.  My 75B has the stock hammer, other than that it should be the same.  I've put the extended FP in my 75B lately, so I don't have to use Fed primers.

Thanks guys.

Guys,

Here are a couple of pics of the rear sight.  As you can see in the second pic, top of the comp hammer has been shaved to provide ample room for the adjustable rear sight.  Let me know with any questions.

I can be happy with that.
