I have been considering CZ 97B, but I have seen frequent comments on the web about how giant the grip and gun is, but also how excellent of a shooter it is. I am relatively new to shooting, and my only point of referrence is my 44mag revolver, so that may have played a part in my impression of this gun. I finnaly got to shoot one at Wade's in Bellevue, WA. First I have to say I consider my hands to be of average size. I am no giant by any means - about 6 foot, 175 lbs. My hands are average for my built, and I can occasionaly palm a basketball, if its new and sticky. The grip felt great to me. Just big enough but not too small. For me it seems harder to control heavier gun with a thin grip. When I hold the gun, my thumb wraps around the grip, and overlaps the entire nail of the middle finger all the way to the last knuckle at the tip of the middle finger. The grip felt great ergonomically. To give some real measurements you can do this: measure the distance between the wrist crease at the base of the hand (the point where your hand tapers down to your wrist; there are usually two creases here - use the one closer to the hand) to the tip of your fully extended middle finger. Mine measures 7.5 inches/18.5 cm. If your hand is at least this big you should not have any issues. The gun shot awesome. I shot way better than with any other gun so far;it was clearly the gun's doing more than mine. The grip was checkered wallnut and was a little prickly. The gun was not light, but not difficult to maneuver. Overall good experience from a rookie shooter, for whatever it is worth. I hope this helps anyone out there considering this gun.
