best loads were 8.0 Blue Dot + 124 FMJ and 8.2 Blue Dot (max load).
8.0 Blue Dot gave 1.3" and 2.5" @ 25yd, 5 shots
8.2 Blue Dot gave 1.7" and 2.5" @ 25yd  5 shots

still experimenting~!

124 JHP and 7.8gr AA#7, 1.2, 1.7, 1.9" at 25yd
124 Hornady XTP and 7.8gr AA#7, 1.8" at 25yd

Basically I found that it likes a full case of powder and near max loads.  With bullets that take up less case space, using AA#9 works great.

Since the 85 Combat, 85B and 75B are essentially identical with regard to ammo performance, you may want to post this type of message in the Ammunition-Reloading forum in the future.

A lot of folks -- in addition to those who shoot 85 Combats -- could benefit from this information, but are unlikely to read it in the 85 Combat club.

(I would have moved it to that forum with a note, but don't have moderator privileges in this club.)

Very nice groupings.  Just wondering what they chrono'd at, since they seem like pretty hot loads.  Thanks.
