First jam with my 85 Combat.

I went shooting on Saturday and had my first jam with my 85 Combat.  :\

The live round didn't exit the whole way out of the magazine and the slide sort of got stuck on the way back closed (forgive my ignorance of appropriate terms if I haven't described it right).

It happened twice with the same mag, but not with the other magazine. It happened on the 8th round one time and the 9th round the next time. Any ideas?

Sounds like a MAGAZINE problem and not a gun problem.

Clean the mags, lube the inside of the tube lightly and then wipe out as much lube as you can, lube the springs (and wipe off), and then reassemble.

If you continue to have problems, get new mag springs.

If you have multiple mags, mark the mag that is causing the problem .. and you'll probably find that its only ONE mag that you're having the FTFs with.

Walt is correct about the mag springs, but I had this before and found that I was knocking the slide stop during battery, locking it up as you explained.  Watch what you do.
