Hi fellow 100s
« on: February 09, 2011, 01:45:09 AM »
I bought my CZ 100 .40 cal (2003 version) about a month ago at a local pawn shop.  It was the least expensive gun in the case, a whopping 235 dollars.  She has a lot of holster wear, so mush so, that I think she might be a CZ cop surplus gun.  Upon field stripping she had a ton of dust, sand, pebbles in all the mechanisms.

I dismantled it to the limit of my abilities and cleaned the crap out of it.  I then oiled it with a silicone spray (Liquid Wrench).  Then took a few days to read the posts on here from 2002 to 2004 and still reading to make sure I don't miss any cool tidbits.  So, after all that, I finally got out to the range and fired of a 100 rounds of FMJ flat nose.  I found out that all drama about the trigger is a bunch of hype by closed minded, or inexperienced people.  I own ten handguns and all triggers are different.  As I shot my first 10 rounds at 7 yards, I had maybe 2 rounds pulled low due to the length of pull.  But, after a few mags.  I was putting 20 rounds in a group the size of my fist.  This is from a 4 inch barrel, if you don't call that an accurate firearm, you're a moron.  As my range-master used to say, "It's all about sight alignment and steady trigger pull."  You can shoot anything with those 2 simple rules.

The best part of my range time was at the end.  You never know how important those two little ports are in this 40 caliber handgun are until you fire off-handed.  I always fire my last magazine left handed with no support.  I think this may be my most accurate handgun off handed.  It's light enough for my weak hand and the ports make recoil controllable after a 40 S&W goes downrange.

I will get her refinished add an IWB holster and make this my primary carry gun.  It's only a half inch taller and one inch longer than my P-11.  The weight is nearly the same.

I could not be happier with this gun.

Here, here on the CZ100B, a man with my vision. I've been carrying mine daily (IWB) for about 6 months now and I'm here to testify that its everything a CCW should be and more. I carry it in a galco summer comfort holster, model SUM250, and it disappears in my waist. Got mine new for $350 out the door and I did some kind of searching for that right pistol for CCW. I compared this to everything thats out there and everything came up short, the walther PPS was a runner up but not a close one. I shoot mine weekly and agree with you on the trigger hype, WHAT A CROCK! Mine pulls light and breaks clean. I would honestly buy another one if the right deal came along, but they are getting rare these days. I would really like to try one of the CZ110's, just to see the upgrades. Well, good luck and hope you'll enjoy your 100 as much as I do mine.

I wish people would use more common sense when choosing a carry gun.  The 100 is bullet proof.  My Taurus 738 had a fail to load during this range trip.  When defending your life, there's no room for error.  My Keltec P-11 is flawless, but I would rather have stopping power and dead nutz accuracy from the 100.  The P-11 has decent accuracy, but the extra inch of barrel from the 100 makes all the difference.

My 100 is like a comfortable old pair of boots.  The new shiny gun (my 738) may be the must have thing, but it sure takes time to break-in.  I've put 200 rounds through it so far and if you've read anything about the 738, they aren't joking about that blister you get on your trigger finger knuckle.  Ouch.

See you guys,

Trebor

I didn't get the free rocks and pebbles.
My gun is pure joy.  Yes, the trigger criticism is more bark than bite.

happy shooting

To the best of my knowledge, the 110's were never imported. I believe the reason was that with a sa/da trigger it lost enough points, using the bizarre import rules, to make it impossible to import. There was one dealer/dist. that had them up on their website, but the 110 page was never updated indicating they had actually received any pistols.

Good shooting.
Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not really after you!

About a year ago an outfit in Florida was advertising cZ110s.  Can't remember their name but they imported a lot of used or surplus arms.  As usual, I waited too long.

I've been to the range a few more times since my original post.  I found out that the faster I shoot, the more accurate my groups.  That leads my to believe that this is one insanely accurate gun.  The only reason for a miss, is a my brain telling me to wait for the bang.  Anticipating the release of the hammer leads to all kinds of hand movement.  Hence, when I was doing a slow controlled fire, I was always having that oddball hole in different locations.  But, popping off ten rounds in aimed quick fire I was dead-on.  Just take the brain out of the equation.  Eyesight and forefinger, bang!  Repeat!
