Tactical Sport Questions
« on: February 19, 2011, 12:23:46 AM »
I'm looking for a new competition 9mm and I've had good success with a Shadow in the past (that one's sold, though) but I've got my eye on the Tactical Sport model. The added weight and longer sight radius appeal to me but I'm uncertain about the frame size--will it be too big for me? I've got smallish hands but have no problem with the double-action trigger reach on an L-frame S&W. Does the larger frame pose a concern for us small handed shooters? I'm in Canada so finding a gunsmith to do a frame reduction will be unlikely so I'll be stuck with the factory frame. My club's matches are similar to PPC-style matches, with generally faster times. I'm looking for a pistol with good 25m to 50m accuracy--that's where the matches are won or lost.

If you have smaller hands, I think adding the thin aluminum grip panels will help you alot, or you could even sand down the original wooden ones to your liking. The trigger on these guns out of the box is amazing and thats an understatement. They are a bit hefty, but remember the long dustcover and full profile slide will add alot of heft. They are very accurate, I haven't shot one in 9mm, but I would expect recoil would be like,... almost non-existent. I bet it would be a sweet shooter. Good luck in your pursuit!
