EAA Witness vs 97B

The EAA Witness looks more like a 75B than a 97B.  Anyone know anything good or bad about the Witness .45?

There are two sizes of metal-framed Witnesses.  EAA has discontinued the smaller framed guns (which came in 9mm and .40 only).  Plenty are still available, used and new.

The larger framed gun is between the 75B and the 97B in size, but very close to the 97B (with a slightly smaller grip size.)  Its available in 9mm, .38 super, .40, 10mm, .45), and you can get conversion kits (complete slide sets) for those calibers and .22 if you want another caliber.

The basic Witness in steel is probably less well finished and less prettiy than the 97B, but for some of us, the slighly smaller grip makes it a better gun.  (If you have a large hand, this is a non-issue.)

The base steel large-frame Witness is less expensive than the CZ-97B, but the next step up Witnesses are pretty darned nice and very well made and finished.

You would do well to try holding one of each, paying particular attention to doing the DA trigger pull.

Luv both of my .45 Witnesses!  Have an older Blued 1992 vintage one that I have been using for my IPSC Limited Class Pistol and a newer 2004 Vintage Wonder Finished that serves as my "House Gun" and an occasional shooter.  Accuracy, Durablility, and Reliability!  What's not to like?

I now got a Witness Polymer in .45, and will get a 10 conversion unit........but not from EAA........who won't deal with Canadians.

The Polymer styling is really good.  It is lighter than the 97B and fits better.

I have a 97B and a 10mm witness and prefer my 97 even though I do like my witness.
