Another New CZ 97B Owner

Hi all.  Just found this Board.  Looks like a great place !!!


Just bought a new 97B.  I bot a CZ 452 American 22 LR this past year & was really impressed with the quality for the money so researched some & found the CZ 97B 45 ACP.  I have a 9 Browning HP so this is my second Auto.


I plan on shooting the Hornady +P 230 JHP/XTP. Anyone have any experience with this ammo?  I do alot of MLing & really like the XTP's performance on paper & in the field.

Welcome to the 97B ranks.
Its a fine pistol as Im sure you already know.
As for the ammo...I have never shot any .45 +P ammo.Never saw the need.
My favorite HP is the Remington 185gr. or 230 gr.
Golden Sabers.Thats what I carry.
For practice I use either Win. USA 230gr.FMJ or UMC 230gr. FMJ..
If your going to shoot alot of +P ammo I would think about a recoil spring upgrade to 16# and probably go on to the 18#.
The stock recoil spring is a bit soft for my liking anyway.

Thanks Blankwaffe.  I just picked-up some of the Win 230 FMJ's plus already had some AE FMJ's for practice. Under $20 for a 100. Seemed like a decent price.

Hi Loggyman, and welcome to the forum. Early on I switched out the recoil spring in mine for an 18#er. It functions great with regular power ammo as well.
